I can see it coming from a mile away. As the trade deadline approaches more and more teams will become sellers, thus flooding the market, thus causing a diminish in returns. Returns that will not satisfy our front office, thus causing them to do nothing.
Today I read that the White Sox have decided to be sellers. Todd Frazier and other offensive pieces are now available.
Brace yourselves to watch Bruce and Cozart continue to block the youngsters the rest of the way!

I would have taken that Saunders trade.
What can you say D? I said it last week we aren't in a rebuild, we are in an Ice Age with hoe glacially slow this team operates. I'm shooting for 2020 for a competitive team and by the time your boy and my grandson are in school maybe more! I can laugh now because I am half in the bag but it's not funny!

It has been pretty quiet on the trade front for a team in rebuiling mode.

Truth be told, it has been pretty quiet on the trade front all together with just a week to go. The few deals which have happened have mostly been for pitching, which we have none to offer. Hopefully it will pick up soon.

I've read a couple trade rumor articles that have named Disco. Is this some sort of joke. Am I missing something here. One rumor was Joey Gallo for him. I know we have a surplus of pitching. Dealing one could be a benefit. I'm usually an outside the box type of thinker. My initial reaction is no way. We do need more bats. Garrett, Stephenson is in the pipeline. We know what we have with Disco. My head is spinning.

Like Chris Sale for Gallo and profar, I don't think I would do that either. Pitchers like Disco whom I believe has 4 more years of control and he's showing top of the rotation potential, you just don't trade period. preseason I would have taken AJ Reed from Houston but look how much his stock has fallen. Keep Desclafani.

Reds trade Chapman for shit to Yanks Yanks trade Chapman to Cubs for 2 top 100 minor leaguers Nicely done Reds It shows you how inept the front office is. No respect from other GM's. He gets fleeced on most deals. The writing is on the wall. He'll get hijacked on the Bruce deal if he can even complete one. This is setting this franchise back years. We got all these young guys so far. What happens if only a couple pan out. Get a good deal done now. He's gonna wait till the end when all the OF's are traded. Panic, then give Bruce away for practically nothing. Then he'll say " there just wasn't anything out there". Lol.

I personally would look to deal DeSclafani if I could get a lot for him, offensively. Yes, I know he's done real well, and looks to be solid with plenty of contractual control. Having said that, I think we are deep in pitching (system-wise), and I also think the game is changing to the degree that his numbers aren't as outstanding as they would look on a baseball card a few years ago. We have got to get OBP guys in this system, and this past winter was a disgusting mess in that degree. Speaking of which. I would move Peraza before anyone realizes that this kid will NEVER be a majore league starter that plays above, or even at, league average. Plus, we heard he's good defensively, and every time I see him, my eyes tell me he's horrible defensively.
As for Bruce. My emotional side would love to keep this kid. The common sense side says you move him though. BUT, you do ask a lot for him. He is having an amazing season, and is locked up for a year and a half still. If team's don't want to pay a ransom for one of the top hitting outfielders in the game, then so be it. I let him play the rest of the season here, put up excellent numbers, and deal him in the winter. Even then, if I don't get a legitimate return for him, I keep him until next summer. The Giants, Dodgers, Indians, Cardinals, Orioles, and a few others can use him. They will battle for his services; don't give in. At this rate, he's arguably the best left handed hitter available.

Foul and Linz. It's amazing when some tough talking individuals buy a team and run it into the ground and pretend all is well. This has been a disaster of ownership for a while. They were pure opportunists who sat down to a table that was nearly already set. All they had to do was keep it going. They have done nothing of the sort. These assholes might be successful in life but they don't know baseball from a hole in the ground.

Guys I would be looking to deal in the next few days. Straily - Got to get something for him while you can. DeSclafani - Would look for a nice haul of offense, but it would have to be very good. Bruce - Again, should be looking for a nice haul of offense. He does NOT have to be dealt right now, if the deal isn't right. He looks like he will finish with a great season; benefit from that in the winter if need be. Duvall - I hate to say it, but I think he's playing way above what his career will garner. Try and get a king's ransom for this kid while you can. Peraza - Throw this unbelievably over-rated kid into a deal, to up the return. Do it now, before someone figures out the truth about this kid. Phillips - Get whatever you can for him, and hope he signs off on the deal. Pay him a little more if you have to, if that's what it takes. Jumbo - Dangle him out there, and see if you can get anything for him. He's had a great run in his last 10 innings or so, and teams are willing to risk a move to get a power arm who can possible help them.

Walt's talking about how there's not much activity regarding Bruce. No shit Sherlock. They're going to wait till the last minute. Pull out their strings and play puppet master with your archaic carcass. Everyone knows how to pull you. Even us dumb ass fans. Let's make a wager on the highest prospect # he pulls in, if he even can pull one in. I'm going with 20th rank on a team. The thing that irks me is this is his supposed last year yet his fingerprints are on the future of the Reds still. Bob give Walt his parting gifts and send him on his way. It's time to see how much Williams can fuck this up. Anyone wanna wager. Lol

Trade deadlines are brutal for us fans with these douchebags. They don't make when they are winning or losing and if they do it's past the point of max return. Another trade dealing coming and going and we are over 100 games with the same starting 8. Way to go on a rebuild dumb asses. With Finnegan and Reed and even Stephenson in AAA our young starters appear to be learning nothing. Only Amir Garrett appears to be progressing. Go ahead and flush this season down the toilet as it has thus far been a complete waste.........................
