I like Herrara. Could be a Phillips clone. Schebler needs to be called up, tomorrow. Cozart will clear waivers so maybe the Seattle trade will rekindle. Agree Cozart will clear waviers.

Just heard Dick Williams on WLW say " there is no reason to force the issue at second base...".
The only thing I hate about a rebuild with this organization is that instead of it taking a year or two it will take 3-4 years and it doesn't have. They lack both brains and ball and that is a deadly combination. But it is nice for Glacial Paces.

Unless of course, it means Phillips play won't force the issue as he's playing himself right out of a job...unlikely, but one can hope. I can't remember the source, but I do remember reading a week or so ago, that Williams was not happy Peraza wasn't playing a lot more. With a team friendly contract, I'm not sure Cozart could clear waivers. I'd honestly wait until the winter meetings and gauge interest with all teams potentially in play instead of just the playoff "buyers". In order to do this though, you've got to play Cozart full-time for the balance of the year.

Hopefully Cozart will clear waivers to trade him. Put Peraza at SS and DFA Phillips and put Herrera at 2nd. Call up Schebler and lets get this party started.

Just read Herrera going to AAA. Of course. Lol. Might as well send Peraza and play SS.

The only reason one doesn't clear waivers this time of year is if a team in contention is trying to block another team in contention from gaining access to said player. There is no such scenario with regards to Cozart.

BP's reluctance to leave is really fucking everything up. I like the idea of having Cozart around as depth but he needs to be a part time player as well. Get both of these kids into the middle infield right now. Suarez's clock is ticking. Duvall can play 3B and Senzel will be fast tracked. I want Winker here in a month and Schebler tomorrow. Guy has an 1.100+ OPS for 2 months straight. I love going to the ballpark in September. if they still have the Cozart-Phillips combo playing nearly everyday I won't touch that fuckin place. We've already squandered 4 months of this season learning nothing. Get on with it..... I totally agree with this and what other have said. Time for BP to go. During the off season we were talking about this too. The Reds not once but twice targeted Peraza in a trade to improve (or help to) the OBP for the top of the order. Twice BP turned down a trade (Washington and Atlanta) Fuck him... he did not give this team a home team discount with this contract. It was all about the money. He was saying it was time to get paid. Well BP you are getting paid and now you are just fucking the team that gave you money to pay for your babies and baby momma's. He could of suck it up and went to a team with a chance to go to the playoffs but he decided to fuck the team... twice. DFA his ass. He didnt do the Reds any favors.

Clinz, Herrera is not longer a prospect because he had to many PA. Here is a little tid bit from Baseball Prospectus
Strengths: Excellent athlete; fast-twitch muscle; plus bat speed; quick wrists, with strong hands for size; gap-to-gap power; drives through the ball; can put a charge into it for over-the-fence pop; quick feet in the field; ranges well at second; strong reactions; flashes defensive instincts for the position; plus runner; ability to impact the game on the bases.
Weaknesses: Aggressive approach; will try to sell out for power; swing loses fluidity in those instances; likes to get the head out in front of the ball; leaves him prone to off-speed stuff; swing on the long side; hit tool can play down as a result; learning how to slow the game down on both sides of the ball; needlessly rushes plays in the field; still raw overall.

Yeah the team should have some incentive to drop his ass too but they don't have the balls to do it IMO. When he whined about Joey getting his millions and relented and gave him his contract. Now he is blocking progress AND declining plus everything you said. It's time to go MF'er! Get this albatross out of here ASAP!

You're right...he's no longer considered to be a prospect due to his ABs...similar to what Finnegan was when he came over last year. As for his glove...I don't know. He's still young enough where he can get better with experience. Here's his error totals: 2011-26; .882Fielding percentage 2012-10; .965FP 2013-15; .972FP 2014-6; .968FP 2015-9; .982FP 2016-6; .984FP Looks like there's been a steady improvement with him as he has gotten older. That's just the basics, and really doesn't define his range, judgement, or awareness(AKA Votto syndrome). He might not be Brandon Phillips in his prime out there, but I don't think he'll be so bad where it is a detrement...especially if his bat pans out.

The 19 yr. old "throw in" is intriguing even if we won't see him probably for 2-3 yrs., has hit 98 mph, is a lefty, has a goofy delivery and a huge slow curve.

See what happens? We get a tinge of excitement because we subtracted one piece and added a potential future piece and we actually want to talk about this team again! LOL!
But as soon as they start playing tomorrow our excitement will be gone because we will be watching the same shit. I don't feel like the Reds are my/our team anymore. They are Bob Castellini's team not Cincinnati's. I'm sick of this. For better or worse I want to see all the new faces. Now. Options are already used on Herrera and Peraza. I'm sure Schebler will be up within a day or two. And at this point I can wait another month so you don't burn an option on Winker calling him up now. This is what I want to see and I know you all do too. It is what we should see when the team tells you it is rebuilding. It's the smart thing to do to speed this thing up. Plus it would actually generate some enthusiasm and excitement to the fanbase and people would come to the park more often. For them that's what all their BS is about anyway! I can take the pain along with the kids getting their MLB lumps, knowing we are going somewhere and sorting this thing out. What I can't take is looking at the same MF'ers who were on the old winning team and won't be on the new one. When these things happen then I can believe in something. I can get behind it. What we are doing or not doing rather has been much worse than the losses piling up this season.
