I wanted a slightly better draft but give myself a solid B to B+. With so many sharp guys it was tough no matter how prepared you were. I had a value pick stolen from me in the very last round! I will say I did more preparation for this draft than any prior. I knew exactly what I wanted every round and honestly could have kept on going with specific players in mind. I wanted to get 1 player from each of 3 groups I had. Top 3 strikeout pitchers-Sherzer,Sale,Archer (projects to be). Get one of Abreu,Stanton,C.Davis,Bautista,EE,Machado with 1st pick. And get one of the top combo guys R-HR-RBI-SB from Machado,Altuve,Blackmon,Springer,Pollock,Marte,Cain.Check on all 3 but considered myself lucky because they were high on the board and nobody picked them in front of me. In fact other than middle infielders(Dozier,Crawford) and a backup cathcer(W. Ramos) nobody stole what I was going to take in any round and I never can say that! It happens a ton in plenty of drafts. All the 1B were nearly gone by the time I got to it so I was happy to get one of Pujols or Poppy. I don't know if something is wrong with McCann but he was an overlay I found fairly late. 2B flew off the shelves fast too so since 1 theft I was pleased to get Kinsler. Closers were gone fast as well. I had 2 value picks in Giles and Tolleson, was happy to get at least 1. Not great at closer though. Hoping Clippard clips Ziegler's wings in Arizona! Brad as I'm sure you hope Hinojosa does to Hernandez. I had my eye on him! Saw that deep stretch/post draft pickup!

I did that with 2 guys Rod. I'm hoping Hinojosa overtakes Hernandez and Quackenbush over runs Benoit. Just as long as one of them is able to do it, I'll be fine. I was going to take the guy in Minnesota in that boat, but he got snagged right before me. Overall, I'm fairly happy. Loaded SP with Scherzer, Arrieta, & Keuchel, and high end closer with Wade Davis. I took some chances on youth which could make or break me with Corey Seager, the Franco kid from Philly, George Springer, and Rasiel Iglesias. LuCroy remaining healthy all year will be a huge plus for me.
I read where Ramos had LASIK surgery in the offseason which has really improved his vision...dude is hitting .400+ this spring. It was LASIK which took Votto's hitting to the next level.

The good thing about the way we set up our league is that by getting closers and closer candidates whomever fails ends up setting up and getting holds so unless you whiff on all closers you aren't in bad shape. I definitely like betting against guys like Farquar and Cishek and Hernandez(even though I got him!). We all take our chances on the roster somewhere Brad. I don't have any outfield depth. Young players I took flyers or even big chances on were Trevor Story,Domingo Santana,and Tyler White. I used Chris Davis as a RF'er so I could take another 1B because there were more of them than OF'ers period. I really wanted Springer and thought he would be overlooked. Talented kid. With starters after I took 5 and my next picks were coming up I just couldn't pull the trigger on guys like Anibal Sanchez or even Shelby Miller. It just seemed like a mediocre pool. I had them sorted out into 5 groups and the first 4 were picked clean fast. |

Man I got dogshit at the closer position already. I had Henrnandez from Philly and he took the loss against us and not in the 9th and Giles gave up a run also not in the 9th today. Fuck!  |

Clinz, I didn't get to do any fantasy stuff again this year. I would have taken Correra with my first pick if he would have been there when I picked. Kid is gonna be a great one. Hall of fame possibly. I also really like the Story kid.

My big K pitcher Archer has gotten torched in nearly every start and again vs Boston last night. And like you I started the week about 5 for 40 to start offensively! Needless to say I'm getting my ads kicked after a great week last week! Fuggin sucks! |

From my standpoint, getting your ass kicked this week is a good thing as I'm fulfilling the role of ass kickee! It's a shame Keuchel & Scherzer's turds today completely offset Arrieta's outing. |
