Marty talking about pro wrestling on the radio instead of the game. He knows a lot more about wrestlers than I thought he would. I remember when Macho man used to come to the booth with Marty and Joe about every season. Leaping Lanny Poffo is his cousin or brother? I know a guy who said Lanny gave a girl he knew crabs one time when wrestling was in town back in the 80s. Brother Lol. I imagine a lot of wrestlers spread some things around back then. Looks like I'm about his only fan left on this board. It is a good story. But I think it is fools gold. Meaning he just bought him self least 4-5 more starts. It is kinda good thing bad thing I guess cause they are gonna hold back the innings on the young guys. I still think that is why Reed and Stephenson are in the pen right now to keep inns. down. I bet no matter how well Garrett is pitching he will be shut down about August. Reed and Stephenson will both be in rotation I think by June. |

But it's the right time for him to do this right now. Hopefully he can get enough starts and enough wins just to go out with a bang rather than a whimper. Feel good story for this town, retire, and next year go into the Reds HoF. I'm pulling hard for him. |

Somethng I forgot earlier. We could see Suarez move back to SS. Herrera at 2b. Senzel at 3b. Winker in lf. Peraza in CF. With some combination of Schebler/Duvall or even Ervin in RF. Maybe they keep Schebler or Duvall and trade Hamilton.
If everyone pans out it is a good problem to have. I just hope front office don't screw up and trade wrong guy for next to nothing. I hope they can keep all the hitters at least 2-3 years on Billy or till his contract is up. Rotate guys around multiply positions.

Suarez
Duvall
Hamilton
Winker
Schebler
That is at least 10 guys capable of starting in majors. That's not including Cozart or Mez.
At very least it gives up two very good players on the bench at all times. This team sorely needs a better bench in 18 and going forward when it will contend....
