I know I am cluttering up the game thread with a bunch of stuff mostly about next year. But man I am excited about the upcoming players and future of this team. I think sky is limit. I hope front office hits on these moves and don't give away the wrong guys because they may need work on there defense.
Lets hope they nail the first round pick in the draft to. That guy who ever he is maybe help on next years team as well. If he is a college guy he could possibly be here as soon as next year. EXCITEMENT!!!!!!!!!

I think the reds are a yr. away from seriously contending for a WC/playoff spot, although stranger things have happened. There's going to be injuries/attrition happen, like always. Most of these things seem to work themselves out. I see Hamilton not being here too long which hasn't been mentioned. I like him, but he's a light hitting speedster w/ great D and poor OBP. In a perfect world, a more complete hitter w/ some power and good speed and D(Ervin?) take his place and the reds get something good for BH. In GASP it's just tough to have anyone w/ no power playing as opposed to nearly any warm body that can hit 15 or so HR's like most of the other NL CF'ers. I'm sure the new "braintrust" will crunch the computer #'s and see if the defensive runs saved+his offense outweigh someone that hits better w/ lesser D. |

Glad to see a SHITSBERG player busted for PEDS. Cheating bastards. I hate Pitt as much as I do the Lesbian Cardinals. True story my buddy a dire hard lifelong Reds fan is cousins with Mike Matheny. He saw Mike this winter and told him nothing personal but I hope the Reds kick your ass 18 times there CUZ. Said Matheny laughed.

Speaking of leadoff hitters, looks like Stubbs is no longer a major leaguer. He's playing minor league ball for the Giants organization right now.
Part of me feels sorry for him, but the other part of me says Fuck Him.

I love watching Hamilton play. IMO one of the most exciting players in baseball. He is very valuable right now because of all the runs saved. Gold glove should be done with since he didn't win it last year. Trading him/ letting him walk as free agent whichever comes first. Will be a huge huge desicion for this club. How do you predict when his legs will go? We know they will sometime and that is key to keeping/ getting rid of him. Cause lets face it. He is what he is at the plate. Doubts he improves much if any. He isn't gonna get on base at a high clip with his wrists. Pitchers gonna pound him strikes on the inside corner cause they know he can't drive the ball. Have no idea what his contract is . But I would say this year and 3 more max and his legs will start to go. When he loses even one step he will be nothing more than a DEF replacement/pinch runner. And Small market teams can't afford to pay him what he will be making in 4-5 years to do that. |

I may be in minority here but I really like Barnhart. I wish he could drive the ball a little more. Cause if he could IMO he could be all star calibar player. But his lack of extra base hit power holds him down. I think he works great with the staff. They need to play Mesoraco though and hope he stays healthy and hits. So they can trade him in July. I've been a Barnhart fan for a while. Mes can't stay healthy, so I'm through with him. Barnhart had a bad stay lay year offensively, but he's been okay offensively since. He reminds me of Hannigan behind the plate. |

I know a guy who said Lanny gave a girl he knew crabs one time when wrestling was in town back in the 80s. |
