I get Brandon and the Reds point of view. I root for the name on the front of the jersey. So with saying that, it's time to release him and move on with the rebuild.

And the trade happened in November. Why are we just now finding out about this? It is a suspicious time to release this info. IMO it's setting up the groundwork for his release. It's sounds most reasonable. We tried to trade him, he declined, so we're moving in a different direction. Try to save face with fan base. At least the ones who pay attention to the players. Diehards like us, get it and will show up regardless. I feel some play-do, coloring books, safety pins and animals to pet in the near future for some folks. Lol 😂😂

Here's the deal, from the outside it looks like the Reds have even tried to pull him in situations which should be comfortable to Phillips. First the trade last season to reunite with Dusty, and this offseason to Atlanta where he is from and does have a house. It's not like they've tried to send him to Tampa or Oakland. It's a tough situation, we need to move on from him for the future of the franchise, but it still seems like he's too good of a player to just outright release. Dude is F'n us over pretty good.
