Unbelievable!!! Garrett goes out and has an unbelievable spring, and in the end, POS Price gives Reed the 5th spot in the rotation. What's even more ironic, is that Price's excuse is that the Nat's have a heavy Lefty lineup, so Garrett will most likely be needed earlier out of the bullpen, thus prohibiting him from starting game #5. What kind of BS is that? Hey Price, guess what, Reed is a lefty too, maybe he could be in the bullpen, and Garrett could get the start, since he CLEARLY earned it. I'm so sick and tired of over-thinking POS decision makers running this organization.

Just with the DL moves and Iglesias going on leave, they needed to fill in the pitching staff. I'm getting the subscription notices from cincinnati.com now, so I might be missing something?? But, yeah, if they are bumping Garrett to start Reed instead, that's bullshit. They knew their situation with Desclafani and Finnegan already, and Garrett was getting the nod there because of it. Nothing has changed... except their minds, if that is the case. Maybe they should have thought things out more before they actually gave the nod to Garrett. That looks indecisive.

Found mention of Reed getting the start.
The explanation is that Price wants Garrett available out of the 'pen against the Nats and Cubs.
He'll put up with a mediocre start from Reed, I guess, and hope that Garrett can keep a game from getting out of hand. Or he's just basically giving away a game that Reed would start in order to have Garrett available out of the pen a couple of times over the next week. One start from Reed and at least two appearances from Garrett.... rather than one start from Garrett and grudgingly having to use Reed twice. Ugh.

Season isn't officially under way and we already have our first "Price is a fucking idiot" moment! That's some half baked ass thinking.

Makes no sense to me either. Only thing I can think of is. This is Reed’s last shot. If he does something they’ll put him back in the minors and keep stretching him out. If not, he’s in the BP for the rest of his career if he even has one. Garrett will be in the rotation after this start and stay in it all year. It does sound rather ridiculous but it’s a better reason then what they’re saying.

I had high hopes for Reed. But he looks like hot garbage. Not putting Garrett in the rotation is pure ignorance. But nothing they do surprises me anymore.
