77 I noticed too Mixon was frustrated. he wanted in there and should have been. The time I saw him shake his head was when they ran Hill to the outside and got no where. You KNOW he was thinking that play should have gone to me!
Lewis is literally afraid of his players and I'm not exaggerating. He cannot bring himself to bench veterans such as Jeremy Hill in favor of younger players ala Joe Mixon. Mixon proved during the pre-season that he's the teams best back and the teams future. If Mixon would have been left in the game and received the bulk of the carries, there's a good chance Cincy would have won last night. Not that it would make a big difference in the grand scheme of things, but it does go to show how good he is and how inept the coaches are.
Dunlap has had about enough as well. He obviously doesn't believe that ownership and the coaches are taking the right steps necessary to really compete with the Patriots, Steelers, Cowboys, Giants, etc. This team gets right on the edge of doing great things only to have Mike Brown pull the carpet out from underneath them by not inking quality free agents (such as C Alex Mack) including his own (Kevin Zeitler). In today's NFL, teams have to sign at least one or two quality (and high priced) free agents to compete with the top teams once they get as good as the Bengals were five years ago. Unfortunately, that time has probably come and gone for these veterans. The Bengals have really got to consider blowing it up and drafting a QB or OT in round one next year followed by a C and a G. I think the chances of Dalton bouncing back and leading this team to a Super Bowl victory is non-existent.
