Good to see ya VB! Man summer has been so hot this year it's worn me out. I have been waiting for these cool days. It just mellows me out. And a September gamethread is always good. What do you do on the road bro? Been in Baton Rouge the last 4 weeks, rebuilding/renovating a Target Dept. store that flooded. 60K houses got flooded a month or so ago, all by rainwater(24+ inches in 24 hrs.). Our company went in, took up all the old flooring, then ground the concrete, encapsulated it, reversing the bio-hazard that the flood caused. 188K sq. feet, the 2nd largest one that they have in the world. Damn. That's impressive. And I know that road work pays real good. I need to get on something like that. All my kids grown and wilfuly single at 43 I'd dig that type of gig!

Talk about hot..? It was 95+ every day down there. On the local weather report when it told the humidity, it just stated: Oppressive. Hint: it was over 90% every day, and it rained every day. Did get to go to New Orleans, the french qtr. and Bourbon St. What a shit hole. Got to see a dead girl on the curb w/ in 10 minutes of getting to Bourbon St., people called the cops, took 'em 3.5 hrs. to even arrive. Heroine OD. Had a cig in her mouth, 2 PM. Also went to Mannings in NO, saw Archie Manning, talked w/ him briefly, great guy. You aren't the first person that has said that to me about NOLA. Dead girl on the curb! Hope you took a selfie with her!

Robbery and a shithole. Kind of like a dead show back in the day, cept' for the robbery by the merchants. After the rain...jeebus. Smelled like piss, sweat and puke.

If I went down there I wouldn't want to go during say Mardi Gras. I would be hanging out at the Fair Grounds racetrack during the day and jazz clubs and big foodie destinations at night! Would love to be down there for the Louisiana derby in early April.

Selsky 4-4. I see his avg. seems to be OK, how's he been if any of you have seen him play? He can hit and get on base but has no pop and no speed. Look at his AAA numbers in 3 seasons. He could be serviceable but I would lean to the older Irribarren because I think he could be a more valuable bench bat. www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=selsky002ste

Damn dude, what is that holy concoction going to become? Right now I am getting about 50-100 chili peppers per week-jalapeno, habanero, poblano, serrano, Thai, super chilis, and the terror inspiring ghost pepper! I do my due diligence and put on the rubber gloves and cut open and deseed and devein them to take away from the heat. Then I salt and cook them down in some oil and just jar them up in mason jars. You get about 120 peppers per quart. Then on a 5 tomato to 2 pepper ratio, I roast tomatoes, red onion, and garlic and put it in a pot and use an emulsion blender, then add the chili mash then cilantro and lime and cook it for an hour. Then it becomes salsa and goes into mason jars, gets a lid and rin and a hot water bath then cools and goes on my basement shelf for at least a month! It was a light year and only got about 50 jars which is about 250 tomatoes worth. Took me about 10 years to get it right but it's the real deal. If you like hot AND flavorful I can send you some. Just give me an address and I'll bubble wrap it. It'll keep for up to a year!
