Josh Smith looked good late in spring training too. He might be needed soon. Very awesome night for Garrett. When it's all said and done, it wouldn't surprise me if Garrett ends up being better than Stephenson & Reed. I think he could be a dominant ace.

Brad what's your take on Stephenson? When I saw him I thought his fastball looked average. Command mediocre. Other stuff lacking. And was not overall impressed when they stuck a mic in his face either! Is this kid part goofball with a physical arm that never developed? Am I just overblowing a few brief observations?
That was a solid outing though. We will need that especially after Melville gets absolutely destroyed tonight which I am setting at 6/5. Big question is I guess will they wait til the Super-2 date passes? When is that specifically do you know? I thought it was around May 24th.

It's going to come down to 1 thing with Stephenson, and that's control. His fastball is MLB ready, and his offspeed stuff is is good enough to get guys out. If he consistently control the ball, then he's #1 or 2 guy in the rotation, if he doesn't...well then he may be better suited as an 8th inning guy or closer.
The Super 2 is generally 2years and approximately 113 days of service time, which working backwards from October 2nd, is approximately June 1. Stephenson got a few days of service time the first week of the season, so it would need to stay down for about another week beyond that. I think I'm right(maybe)
