Let me tell you about the perversity of some of the statistics the Reds are putting up. This makes 3 straight series that the team SLG % is less than their OBP. Very hard to accomplish. In this series the bullpen had a 7.8 BB9 rate and no surprise accumulated 3 losses albeit the defense did their part assisting them with 3 errors and 3 unearned runs. After no errors in the first 4 games they have 6 errors and 5 unearned in the last 2. This series we get 2 quality starts from Bailey and Castillo and don't have a chance. We have 5 quality starts on the year and have only won 1 of them.
You know I can deal with rebuilding. Sometimes it's the smart thing to do. But this team heading into this season should be capable of hanging around .500 this year IMO. And right now it looks like by the time the Kentucky Derby is run we will already be talking about 2019. Dreadful feeling.
