Please tell me this is an article from The Onion. Why in the world would a team trade for a coach with a record of one win and twenty-nine losses? If the Bengals are stupid enough to make such a deal (which isn't out of the realm of possibility with Mike Brown at the helm), they deserve all the losing that will take place henceforth. This team needs a big time coach from the pro ranks or the college ranks. Either would suffice. Just don't hire another coach from within the organization, Paul Guenther included. Even if Guenther is considered the best coaching candidate available, the Bengals need to pass just to show that they're capable of hiring from outside the organization. This team needs a fresh start, not another old fart. Hire an innovator. A coach with an imagination (Sam Wyche?) and a great track record. A coach that wields a heavy hand when needed and commands respect 24/7. (And while we're at it; how about one that can manage a game clock). www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0PKlCFX_jg

No coach has been able to turn that team around. BUT, that being said we don't need him back. His coaching here was not all that. His offense was too predictable I was sick of seeing those short sideline passes to the WR. They did it so much it never worked. Along with lack of a run game. We need a coach that has fire. Some sort of emotion. Someone who owns their own shit instead of saying its not my job. Someone who respects the fans. I don't care what Lewis is saying now hes gone. He just didn't expect it to come out this soon. They do need to clean house and take Dalton with them he is average at best. I'd rather they keep McCarron see what he does in a season and wait and see what comes out in next years draft. I don't care for the QBs this draft. I think McCarron deserves a shot. He has heart and hes a fighter and much better on the long ball and escaping the rush.

Lets hope this is true. Anything is possible with loopy Mike Brown at the helm. The whole coaching staff should be shown the door, Guenther included.

I just finished reading on a couple different websites recent articles that they actually have Jay Gruden in their sights. If they hire him or Jackson we are screwed. I will at that point find a new team to follow. I will pretty much been over this team. Enough is enough. But if Gruden gets the axe they will hire him.

I will at that point find a new team to follow. I will pretty much been over this team. Enough is enough. But if Gruden gets the axe they will hire him. Mike Brown's first priority is to hire a coach that will tolerate his bullshit. Winning is the last thing on his mind. I think it's fairly obvious that Brown has been meddling more and more into making team and/or roster decisions over the last couple of years. The selection of John Ross in round one of the 2017 draft is one such example. Brown promised to back off of this practice after Carson Palmer and Marvin Lewis quit the team, but like an alcoholic, Brown fell off the wagon. He just can't help himself when it comes to screwing up the team his dad founded. It's obvious that he enjoys 'sticking it' to Bengal fans whenever possible. He does this by going against fan sentiment time and time again regardless of the topic. Therefore, no one should be surprised if he makes another decision that runs contrary to what the fans want: a new head coach from outside the organization with a good resume. Lets face it, Marvin Lewis, Jay Gruden, Paul Guenther, Bill Lazor and Hue Jackson are Browns first choices at becoming the teams head coach. Once again, this isn't about winning, this is about hiring a sucker that will tolerate his meddling. Nothing more, nothing less. Getting back to the John Ross selection, I think Brown made that selection, not Lewis. Brown wasn't happy that the Bengals weren't able to pick up one of the top three receivers in the 2016 draft, so he thought he'd make up for it by selecting the fastest WR ever. This is pure stupidity on Browns part, but he's done this before, so the selection didn't surprise me. Now, I do hope that Ross lives up to that number nine overall selection, but I'm not holding my breath. Simply put, Ross has had two major injuries (knee/labrum) which doesn't bode well for a small WR playing in the AFC North. I hope it works out because Ross isn't just fast, he's shifty and can change direction on a dime. He actually has enough speed and moves to become Antonio Brown-ish. Concerning the teams search for a new head coach (if a search actually takes place), it's not only Bengal fans that know that it would be best for the organization to search for a head coach from outside the organization, it's also the opinion of nearly everyone that is connected to the league is some fashion. The only question that remains is whether Brown cares enough about his dads team to overcome his fear of hiring from outside the organization. The world is watching.

The one positive I took from todays announcement was my belief that Brown is no longer going to make personnel decisions. I'm merely guessing, but I don't think Lewis would return if major concessions weren't made. It just doesn't make any sense otherwise, but neither has many other decisions.
