The human spirit is resilient. The home team mired in post allstar apocalypse wins a series and the enthusiasm returns with vigor! Well maybe not so far as that! But always good to see the home team win. Til the last game we were raking. Winker with a healthy wrist showing some amazing power. And defense as well. Glad we are getting a look at him. Our RISP prowess faded after game 1 but it has done that overall since June as we are now at 16th in the league. But we still bashed our way to nearly 5 runs a game. Add a third more of an inning from Stephenson and one less run from Romano and the starters were brilliant. Given the historical implications thus far this season I'll see the glass half full for the starters when they perform. Bullpen walking the ledge with a 1.56 WHIP but overall decent as well.

Winker is thankfully starting to prove me wrong about him being Denorfia 2.0. I hope he keeps hitting and ignoring the 3rd base coach on occasion. He's hitting .281, getting regular playing time. Always great to take a series from a division rival and good to see you be able to put up some stats that aren't dirt poor Rod!

I am envisioning a future with Winker and Senzel added to a lineup that has Votto in it. 3 guys with strike zone control, high OBP, and with the first two I think they will have ample enough power. Votto in his best minor league season only topped out at 23 HR's. Anyway 3 guys like this changes the whole dynamics of a lineup.
