Happy for both. Cozart really deserved it. He isn't a .320 hitter long term I think we all know that. But it's just about first half numbers and his are impressive. Overall I think fans did maybe best job ever at voting. Trout should have dropped out with his injury. He may have had such a big lead by the time he got hurt is why he held onto a starting spot. Alex Wood may have been biggest snub.

Not all star related but that clown DeShields at last has Jesse Winker leading off in Louisville. Hamilton got pinch hit for today. Could we see Winker leading off for Reds after all star break? I doubt it but I can dream. Scooter getting more and more pt at 2B and Peraza sitting out more. These idiots maybe getting it. Can't have a great lineup with 2 of the 8 guys being close to automatic outs. At least one of Hamilton or Peraza has to go .

Brian, if you go back to a year ago, using stats from then to right now, Billy is a .254 avg, with a .315 obp, and 72 stolen bases. That doesn't even take into consideration, his defense. BH is not the problem; the starting pitching, clearly is. What's also rather crazy, is that for some reason, BH can't seem to hit on the road this year. His home stats in 40 games this year, he's batting .267, with a .333 OBP. Where I do agree with you, is with Peraza. I don't believe this kid will ever be a benefit to this team, unless we get something for him in a trade. As for Cozart. I've always been a fan of his game, so I'm really excited for him. I also wouldn't be too sure that he's not a plus .300 hitter from here on out. He has changed his hitting approach, seeing way more pitches, and looking for a specific zone now, rather than swinging at anything that might be a strike. He's a completely different player with a different approach.

I can't ever see a top off. with guys who never get on base in order like Peraza and Billy. Billy needs to go to a team with a huge OF. He would be a big asset to a club like Colorado or San Fran. I really don't know what else Winker has to prove in AAA. To me he would be a perfect leadoff hitter. I wouldn't be surprised if either at deadline or in offseason. If one of Winker, Hamilton,Duvall or Schebler isn't traded. I am with you on Peraza. I haven't give up on him but I would like to see him packaged with some other to get a upgrade somewhere. I doubt you could get anything much for Peraza alone. He would have to be packaged with others I would think.
