Hey guys, I've not posted in awhile due to some personal issues, but have still been reading the forum. First and foremost as of February 23rd, I'm a 46 year old orphan as my Daddy passed away, following my Momma 3 years ago. I'm still dealing with a wife that had brain cancer 10 years ago, a head on car wreck over a year ago and she's had problems with the shunt in her head. She has fallen a lot with the last one breaking her arm.
But enough of my worries, I will be setting up for the Prediction Thread this weekend in time for Monday's OD. As far as the Red's chances, I'm going to say it like the doctor told me before the deaths of my parents, "Hope for the best, but expect the worst."
I don't know how much participation we'll have this season in the PT since several posters are not present yet, vb, bama, UC, Christian and others I can't remember right now. I have no way of contacting those individuals. Most I've mentioned probably will find their way here, but UC is too old and won't know how.
I look forward to chatting with you asshats this season!

Good to see you brother and hope that here and now things are going ok for you and your family. That is one tough road you been down. I am lucky to still have my mom. She has been through 2 stem cell transplants for multiple myleoma since 2008 so I've been up against that wall of death. Not a fun experience. With all you've had to go through I'm not surprised the internet hasn't been a top priority!(poor attempt at humor here). I'll keep you in the prayers buddy.
As far as the Reds it's going to take some endurance to make it through what looks like a painful rebuild. I don't expect the pitching to have any semblance of productivity til at least June. But once in place we will get a genuine take on where we're at. But it's spring and hope springs eternal, let's just have it be hope in life, the Reds got a ways to go yet! But at least we have done the right thing and slashed and burned and are getting it started now. I like it personally, it's cyclical. To me the worst part was 12-13 getting bounced embarrassingly from the playoffs. Getting there is the fun part. Seeing it come together builds the anticipation. I love baseball itself so I can endure.
Like you I wish there was a way we could find some people that I know we lost. I know Lostwou started a board over there before but who knows if they'll even find it. Anyway I'll jump on board.
Let the season begin. We are rebuilding too. No group of schleps I'd rather hang with!

Thanks Rod, I'll continue to pray for your Mom. I'm sorry you've had to endure the bad times, I remember them well with my Mom, it's tough.
I think was pisses me off the most about Reds is that in 2012 and 2013 we were a few tweeks away from total greatness. I think we had the best (to me) starting 5 in baseball, definitely the most durable. The FO pissed around and now have wasted Votto and Phillips best years and lost that great starting 5 by sitting with their thumbs up their asses. I'm hoping that the Red's will surprise me and we see some of these youngsters go through their growing pains and blossom. Anyways, as few a number as we are, I will be right there with you all!
