The offense is back scoring enough runs to win series'. But the pitching is still atrocious with the bullpen posting up in the last 5 series 9.69, 5.22, 4.60, 4.32, and 7.90 ERA's. The starters haven't had an ERA under 6.55 in the last 5 series. Who would have though Castillo would debut on the road better than both Bailey and Finnegan and by a mile of betterness? Amazingly inept.

We are no longer in the top 10 in offense or bullpen either. We are still on pace to score 788 runs which is an improvement. But we remain 12th in runs. The bullpen after this disastrous streak has a 4.13 ERA which puts at 13th.
The only thing we can hope to see is the rotation stretch out and stabilize and the bullpen get less innings. Then we will be able to accurately gauge what this team can really do.

I think our offense is in the mindset that it doesn't matter how many runs we score, the pitching will fuck it up (outside of tonight's win).

And maybe I am reaching. But I genuinely think they get wore out with the pitching reality but never quit. Hard to explain for me. I think the team concept is intact but obviously not enough talent. They fight. They negate themselves out. Then rise from the ashes.

Fingers crossed that this FO and coaching staff make wise decisions on this pitching staff.
