I'm not impressed at all with the return for Frazier. All of these deals or potential deals seems mostly salary dumps. And while I am addressing a trade. ... can we not have Jockey answering questions about trades any longer? I mean come on man. .. I know Reds fans have got pretty stupid in the blind following of the ownership and old pumpkin head. But can he just shut the fuck up a minute?

E I think they got too single minded on that Dodgers package and couldn't step back, take a deep breath, and look at the big picture. The Peraza as centerpiece is still perplexing to me.Offhand I'd have to look a little deeper at both the Sox and Dodgers' prospects, but if there was one more player that compared more to the list above instead of that throw in infielder the trade would have been acceptably realistic IMO. That said, and since it's done, and we both recognize it for what it is and isn't,I do see the potential in the top 2 of this deal.By comparison Schepler is no Duvall, and even though it's hard to imagine Peraza becoming Jose Altuve he is all of the sudden the best prospect in our system because these punks can't draft either!LOL!

BTW what do you think?I'm not a bigtime believer in having 10 tons of bells and whistles, just a basic place to post.Got both Cincinnati's team colors here that's about it.Maybe add some team logos.Anyway not a lot to talk about after a terrible week in Cincinnati sports but good to see ya!

I'm not overly thrilled with the return on Frazier either. I think we got 2 solid players and a wild card in Dixon, but the problem with all 3 is there is no star potential there, which I felt we should have got for a big power bat in today's era of pitching dominance. I think we originally wanted Tim Anderson from the White Sox, but they wouldn't budge.

I think I would have taken Corey Seager and that's it.A relief pitcher from the Whitesox.or nothing.I would have taken the top 2 from this deal for Chapman though. That would have been a good deal.

The deal sucked. Walt gets fleeced again. He has to be the laughingstock of MLB GM. As soon as Walt backs himself into a corner with his stupidity. GM's salivate knowing a heist is about to take place. I agree with trading guys but what they're getting. Frazier hit 30+ HR and 98 RBI. You can't get one major league ready player or top prospect. Some scouts are saying he could be utility guy. I know it's to early to tell. On paper it looks horrible.

It's completely amazing. Pure sabre types always abuse stats to mask their basic opinion in this case apathy in regards to Frazier and his diminished value based on splits. BS. Frazier was a complete package without being Miguel Cabrera. Has decent AVG/OBP, plenty of power and production, above average defense, and all the clubhouse/team player intangibles. It's embarrassing. The teams we dealt with were wrong. The Dodgers didn't want 3 prospects for a Seager or Pederson. End of conversation. I would have been OK with this if it was for Chapman. I can't believe we were this fixated on Peraza. Wow

Reading reaction throughout baseball, nobody thinks this was a good trade They are basically saying without saying that the Reds front office is really stupid.
I agree.

When watching youtube highlights, One thing I like about Peraza and Schebler is that they both have short strokes to the ball. Not long swings, not a lot of movement involved in their swings.
That said, I do not believe we got enough in return.

Schebler will probably end up the better player in this deal. He isn't just a banger as he had 36 triples the last 3 seasons. And he can steal some bags.

I honestly think Frazier might not have many more good seasons in him. Looking at his minor league numbers when he came up I was surprised he was able to put together these last 2 seasons. We traded at the right time but just not for what the here and now is worth. I think you'll be glad the Pirates didn't get him by summer 2017. TBD..
