I think RB. Hill has not played up to his potential and Bernards injury its a need for sure. Couple other teams like Mixon so someone could jump in front of them. He should start IMO. They just used a 2nd rd pick on him despite charater issues. We know Hill isn't good enough to be a feature back. Gio can't be a 3 down back. So I say play the guy. But we all know Hill will start. Marvin loves him a veteran.

Saw a comment today that just about fits. Said oh boy another WR for Dalton to under throw down field on first down. Then false start 2nd and 15. Run hill up the middle for 1. 3rd and 14. WR screen to Ross. He gets blowed up by a LBer. Season ending injury. That sounds about right and par for the course. You're analysis is every Bengal fans worst nightmare and one that carries some weight (history) to it. This has been the operandi under Lewis and company for years. Lewis needs to put safety and the health of his players above all other considerations. Injuries have plagued this team year after year and the report that concluded that the Bengals are one of the least injured teams in the league over the last several years is hogwash. The Bengals have sustained some of the most significant injuries to many of their top players than any team I know of. This report is grossly misleading when you consider 'who' was injured, 'when' they were injured and the seriousness of the injury.

Right now he's not being used properly to exploit defensive mis-matches. imagine how great Gio would be if he were coached by Belichek of even our own Sam Wyche.

OT here but pretty cool I think. The TE the Bears drafted in the 2nd round from Ashland. I work with a lady who's son played with the guy last year. He is a beast by all accounts. Congrats to him for being picked so high from small college.

Last year in the last game I was thinking how Burkhead should be Bengals lead back but I knew he woul probably be let go. I was thinking he fits mold of a New England back. Sure enough Bill scarfed him up. We wouldn't even had to use a pick on a RB had they played it smart.

Mixon will make the o-line look better than it actually is, but the Bengals do need to fortify the line and that starts with a new center.

Now Mixon. In all seriousness could be two really good picks. But was there no good 0-lineman in the draft? All those OFF. weapons won't do much good with the QB laying on the ground. Great points. This draft is weak when it comes to o-linemen, but I think the Bengals will add at least one later on when it becomes a good value pick. C and OT are the priorities and free agency may be the teams best bet. Adding two pass rushers from rounds three and four is a must. Tanoh and Hendrickson are at or near the top of my wish list, but Walker or Rivers would be great. I just don't want to see the Bengals by-pass good pass rushers because of their unwillingness to depart with the washed up Johnson as did for years with Peko, Maualuga, etc. The Bengals just picked up CB Darqueze Dennards fifth year option. They need to send Adam Jones packing ASAP! It makes no sense whatsoever to keep an overaged drama queen at CB with all the young talent behind him. Getting rid of Jones and working with Burfict to keep his game clean as it was last year, would do wonders for this team. LB Dawson may need to be waived as well.

It was obvious to me what Burkhead could accomplish under Coach Belichek. I actually included Burkhead in my seven round mock all those years ago. I saw something in him that's hard to coach: Desire. Unfortunately, Burkhead was mis-used in Cincy but I'll cut Lewis some slack because Burkhead was injured quite a bit.

Congrats to him for being picked so high from small college. I was really high on the guy when I first watched hm play, but I also saw some film that wasn't that spectacular. Shaheen doesn't seem to be that fast nor athletic. I also saw some catches that he was allowing into his body and his hands looked a bit clumsy at times. All of these problems are correctable and if he gets them worked out, he should be a good one but round two may be a bit high.

Finally, the Bengals have added a pass rusher in DE Jordan Willis out of Kansas State. I think this is a solid selection that should really help out up front but I do want to see another pass rusher added in round four. I guess I'll have to wait for tomorrow evening.
What I really like about the draft so far is that the Bengals are adding fast players to the roster. In the past, speed and/or quickness wasn't always a necessity when selecting players (Maualuga, Dawson, Bodine, etc.) but this years draft has been quite different.
Another aspect of this draft that I like is that the players being added are great value picks. The Bengals bring in an explosive WR in John Ross with the ninth pick who holds the NFL combine record by running a 4.22 forty. Then they add RB Joe Mixon who may have gone in the top twenty of round one if not for his assault. And Jordan Willis was considered a round two lock with some prognosticators having him going high in round two.
All in all, the Bengals have done a nice job. They have added speed, filled holes and their picks thus far are big-time playmakers. This hasn't always been the case in the past so it's nice to see them turning a new leaf.

They asked Mixon if he misses his girlfriend.
He said only when she ducks

All those OFF. weapons won't do much good with the QB laying on the ground. actually that's where Ross comes in. He is so fast and quick they can do quick hits and run all the way down the field. Then Green deep! It helps Dalton get rid of the ball quick.

Bucky Hodges could be their guy or Jake Butt (If the haven't been selected already)? DE Trey Hendrickson is a guy I really like and he's already twice the player Margus Hunt was. Scratch that. Hendrickson has already been selected.
