Just read that Lamb has been traded to the Rays for cash.
So much for putting his lefty ass in the bullpen.

I was a little shocked by this move too. The only thing I can think is the Reds aren't confident in him since having 2 back surgeries

That's just plain stupid IMO. But I am prejudiced. I have always believed in this kid and he has an array of offspeed pitches with a mid 90's FB. They don't grow on trees. And for a team that has used every dead arm in the pen this season, casting off a lefty to put more emphasis on Cingrani's value is the residual shit that makes me hate this organization at times.

Sure, its not like Cingrani isn't prone to back problems either, ya know?
If Lamb is a turd for his back problems, then Cingrani should have already been flushed.
And Lamb would still be under longer salary control, I guess. Doesn't make sense.

If Cingrani is in the pen on OD we can kiss any good intentions goodbye. But I am one of the very few that think if some smart moves are made we could fuck around and make the playoffs!

Lamb was already DFA'd, and is likely to miss the beginning of next season at a minimum as he recovers from even more surgeries. He's also out of options so we'd been stuck with him. I don't see it is as a huge loss...the fact we even got cash for him is quite surprising.

Lamb was DFA and out of options and Tampa put in a claim for him. Reds could of pulled him back and kept him on the 40 man roster. They chose to make a trade with the Rays.
Cash was better than getting a bag of balls for him but I guess that is better than a blank.
He just had another back surgery this off season and had one last season. Those along with TJ surgery when he was with KC plus he would not be ready to pitch this spring made him expendable. Well, that and he was 1-7 last year and 2-12 lifetime.
I think the Reds can make up that one win somewhere else and use that roster spot for anyone else.
no loss
