Great TD catch by A.J. Green before the half! But it's Marvin Lewis' inept coaching that really defines the first of the this game.
Once again we find Lewis struggling to properly manage the game clock just prior to the half. Lewis should be on his hands and knees, praising Green and Dalton for bailing him out.
And when it comes to tackling, don't get me started. The Bengals whiffed on several tackles during the first half, two of which would've resulted in a sack. At least three other missed tackles allowed Cleveland RB's to gain positive yardage on runs that should've been stuffed at the line. It's obvious that the Bengals aren't working hard at practice on this most basic aspect of football.
Inconsistency can be spotted all over the field. On one series the offensive line blocks well. On the next, they suck. The defensive line continues to turn it on and turn it off when it comes to rushing the passer. It's so bad that Kevin Hogan just ran through the heart of the Bengals defense and scored a TD. That's right folks. Kevin. Hogan. This team is undisciplined and inconsistent.
Ken Zampese has been a monumental fail thus far. Bad play-calling, inconsistent use of players, etc., have all contributed to his downfall. Paul Guenther? Well, if you can't stop Cleveland and in particular Kevin Hogan, you're doing a terrible job.
This team is playing without any enthusiasm or sense of urgency. It's obvious that they lack true goals such as winning a playoff game. This team and we fans are doomed until Mike Brown, Marvin Lewis and the rest of this rag-tag bunch are out of the picture.

Roughing the punter on Derron Smith. Chippiness by Burfict. Not setting the edge consistently on defense. Two missed field goals by Nugent. Sloppy undisciplined football. We fans should be thankful that it was the Browns in PBS today. We're still far from being a serious playoff contender.
Sorry guys. Not gonna start waving the pom-poms over this win. Like you, I hope it's the start of something great, but with Marvin Lewis at the helm, I highly doubt it. These guys are playing as if they no longer believe in what Brown and Lewis are selling.

At this point I'm just kicking back and not exactly enjoyably so. Getting to .500 and being 1 game back in the division represents opportunity. Get there step 1. Start playing better football alongside a more favorable schedule and it could get interesting. 77 I'm with you about the defense. They are playing like a bunch of pussies. As if this conversation were goin on in their head.."man this MF'in offense man, gotta pick these guys up, this is BS man...". I see that pouting little kid attitude and not a group of professionals. They don't have any leaders over there. They sticks mics in their faces and they sound like a bunch of morons, then they go out and play wishy-washy football. What's going on here. They played hardcore down the stretch last year and it was impressive. Between their shitty attitude and the Ho-Line it's hard to imagine this team going places. But....It is roughly the same talent base that could have had home field advantage and the #1-2 seed in the AFC last year. We are sitting here idling, waiting for a defining moment in the season that makes us go "..ahaa, here we go!" instead of making us puke and lament everything about our hometown team. Anyway Fish and Chips and a W. Let's start there old chap!

I couldn't agree with you guys more. If the Bengal don't get into the playoffs and win a game it will be ML's last year. I hope!!!!!

I'm gonna tell it like it is. Marvin Lewis and company have not drafted players at positions that are being manned by a player they personally like because they can't bring themselves to inform said player that they're being replaced. The defensive tackle position; defensive end position; middle linebacker position; and center position all come to mind.
Take last years draft as example number one. WJIII was a good pick, but defensive tackle cried for an upgrade, yet the Bengals by-passed several good ones because they're infatuated with world beating cream puff Domata Peko. Luckily for the Bengals, Andrew Billings fell to them in round four.
And don't be surprised if the Bengals don't upgrade the defensive end position in next years draft until the mid-rounds or later because they don't want to upset Michael 'My Career is Over' Johnson. Basically, the Bengals need a coach with a big set of nads that isn't afraid to use them. Lewis is just too passive to be an elite head coach. Assistant coach/scout is his calling.

Yeah he's gotta go. We really started to see it rear it's ugly head late last season but... Like I was saying 77 we have to just be fans and see what happens and hope for the best. We have no choice.

As things stand now, the only way the Bengals can win a Superbowl is if the players take it upon themselves to outperform their coaches. The Ken Zampese experiment has been a downright disaster. It was risky to hand over an offense to a rookie offensive coordinator on a team that was getting close to winning it all. Hiring from within the organization instead of looking elsewhere has got to be one of the stupidest ideas I've ever seen.

Our OL is worse than it even looks. When Bodine can't block, and they are taking Ced out of plays and putting Winston in, there are big problems. Jake Fisher hasn't even been put in a tackle position. Drafted 1-2 Tackles and apparently one isn't playing up to par and the other isn't playing hardly at all, I see another OT in our draft future. Still can't get a pass rush. And Peko is nothing but a part time belly dancer, Reggie Nelson is gone and it shows.

Just hopin we can make that mid-late season rally. We already know we got it in us. I think it's just a motivation factor and these guys lookin like ghetto gone wild. Hope they suck it up!
