Halftime report I was fucking pissed. I turned everything off in the simulcast room in the basement and by the time I got up the steps Miami had a TD! Jesus! But we've buckled down and looked all business since. Bengals D gave them one. No biggie as long as they learn from this mistake and get it fixed permanently. I'm still looking for consistency and a sense of urgency on both sides of the ball. So far, I'm somewhat disappointed although they have had their moments. Red zone play calling and execution sucks. Whenever an offense has a first-and-goal, every play must attack the end zone. Period! Two consecutive running plays at the ten on first-and-goal and second and goal doesn't cut it. Sneaking in some 'change of direction plays' on occasion would pay off by keeping defenses honest.

2-2 and that's a good thing. Glad we get a long break to figure some things out. Tonight was not perfect but we accomplished a .500 September. 77 yards rushing and only 2.1 per rush. Ouch. But the pass game was proficient. The defense was excellent and we possessed the ball for 38 minutes! I live that TOP stat! We convert 2 FG's to TD's and we get 30 points. That would have been the icing but I'll take the W. Here's to a better October. Cheers!

It was good to see some Big Boy plays but we need more TD's or the better teams will beat us on the square. Best moment of the night. Geno Atkins grabbed an Offensive Lineman and knocked Tannehill down by throwing the guy on him! Did you see that 77? That was classic!

We got the win but our OL is still horrific. Something needs to be done to correct this. I don't understand why they drafted Jake Fisher in the top of the 2nd RD if he wasn't going to be a starter at the tackle position. I can see the draft already. OT in the 1st or 2nd rd and a center. We need to upgrade LB and DE as well. I also don't under what their plans are for McCarron. Just have him ride the bench and let him walk when they could trade him for a draft pick or player? Its a waisted opportunity. He is going to start some where else not stay here and be a backup. It would be awesome to have him stay but not realistic. They should have thought ahead and gotten a decent backup with this in mind. 77 heres a question for you. Can they trade him before the draft? I am not sure when his contract is up.

They should have thought ahead and gotten a decent backup with this in mind. 77 heres a question for you. Can they trade him before the draft? I am not sure when his contract is up. To your question first; I'm not for sure. I read somewhere that teams can make trades before November 1st, but I don't know how accurate this info is. Personally, I don't see the Bengals moving McCarron until after the season. The thinking behind their decision to keep McCarron is their fear of losing Dalton to injury. If Dalton were to sustain a season ending injury, McCarron has the ability to rescue the team and thus their season. If Dalton goes down and McCarron isn't on the roster, the season is lost or so they think. However, I think there's a small window after the season where McCarron will still be under contract and it's during this time the Bengals could trade him. Once again, I don't know how accurate this info is, but I really think this is the path they plan on taking after the season ends. Like you, I too think it would be terrible if McCarron were to sign with another team and the Bengals get nothing in return. And although I don't see this happening, there's always a chance, as small as it may be, that the Bengals keep McCarron and trade Dalton. I know this may sound crazy, but you never know. What if Dalton sustains a career ending injury? What if he sustains an injury such as a torn ACL that will keep him out for at least a year? What do they do if McCarron simply starts out playing Dalton? McCarron has already proven that he's at minimum Dalton's equal when it comes to grasping the mental part of quarterbacking and he has more swagger. Something I really like in a quarterback. Simply put, you just never know what a season will bring. Draft wise, the Bengals need to focus on bringing in pass rushers and another wide receiver such as Miami's Stacy Coley. Then there's Zeitler. If the Bengals get him signed, great. If not, there's two or three good ones out there that they can target. As far as center goes; going after a quality free agent may be the best path to take. Pat Elfein out of Ohio State is the top rated center according to several draft sites. I like Elfein and he looked good yesterday blocking downfield and to the sidelines vs. Rutgers, but he's not as established as say a Dave Rimington.

The McCarron thing makes no sense anyway. After Dalton went down to injury last year the whole coaching staff quit basically! They played like defeated turds last year and we all saw it's immediate effect. Look the threads up from last year. I think if we don't trade the mick fro some upgrades on the lines we aren't going anywhere THIS year. This offensive line is so bad I don't see it improving.

The Bengals faced three tough teams to open the season with two of those match-ups on the road. They could've easily lost all three games, so coming out of those three games with one win is big.
However, if the Bengals are going to make a serious run, they have to play better. The good news is they have the talent to do it minus center and defensive tackle. This team is really, really missing Marcus Hardison and Andrew Billings. Hardison was poised to have a breakout season.
Ken Zampese really needs to work on his red zone play calling. EVERY PLAY on a first-and-goal should be designed to attack the end zone whether passing or running. Calling plays that are only designed to get the ball closer to the end zone are a wasted chance at scoring a touchdown.
Getting Burfict back is going to be a much needed infusion of talent and enthusiasm. Getting Tyler Eifert and WJIII back from injury could propel the Bengals into the playoffs once again IF they and the rest of the team stay healthy. Will they do it?
Nice to see the Bills standing up to the Beli-cheats before the game. Reminds me of our Bengals standing up to the Ste-elitists. The best way to deal with a bullies such as these are to punch them in the mouth. Keep it up Bills.
Could Domata Peko and Russell Bodine keep the Bengals from going deep into the playoffs?

Paul Alexander is a good coach, but he's slightly overrated. The o-line is playing as if they're resting on their laurels and they weren't properly prepared prior to the start of the season. Players have to be rigorously pushed in training camp with a focus on the basics for rookies and veterans alike. Take defense for instance. Tackling is one of the most basic aspects of playing defense. Therefore, the Bengals should take a day where the defense does nothing but work on, and improve, their tackling. Several players have whiffed on many should'a been tackles this season. Tackling has got to improve.

The Bengals have plenty of time to rest up, get healthy, and put in a game plan that plays to their strengths while hindering Dallas' strengths. I really think this game will come down to coaching and which coach does a better job at preparing his team.

And I thought "Is anybody out there" was a cry for help. Presumably you do your jerking off during the game. Hence the lack of activity on the board. I imagine it's hard to type with both hands trying to get a handle on the ball, eh?
