OK, I'm coming clean. Because this board has been quite slow and thus boring for some time now; I decided to sign-on to a Cleveland Browns board so that I could talk some football within the division. I knew I would be hammered with insults which didn't phase me in the least. It's sorta a hazing and/or rite of passage one must go through before being accepted. Well, as you can imagine, I had about every insult hurled my way, but several long time posters finally accepted me except for one; an administrator by the name of Zombo (Z). Most of the insults were your typical, everyday insult, but a few were clever and thus amusing. I also retaliated on occasion just to prove my mettle, but it was obvious that Z harbored a lot of jealously and resentment of me and my posts which were far more in depth, accurate and honest than his own. Basically, he didn't like to be shown up by a Bengals fan who posted much more intellectual posts than his, well, rather superficial and nonsensical posts.
Here's the good news. I was playing Z to an extinct and he had not clue. He thinks the opposite is true but it's not. He got so incensed over my posts and comebacks that were directed to him (I called him a censoring commie), that he suspended me for eight days although I had not violated any rules. After my eight day suspension ended, I started posting again and Zs panties got all twisted in a knot so he once again suspended me for a month (30 days) from sheer jealously and something else. That 'something else' is this: Z didn't want the other posters to know that he had suspended me over a harmless video because he knew it would make him look bad. So what did I do? I messaged several long time posters informing them of my suspension by Z along with all the details. I actually got a good response back. Deep down, you can tell that a lot of posters do not like Z and are aware that he's damaging their board.
It's no wonder the Browns suck year in and year out. Most of their fans, not all, seem to have no clue on what it takes to build a winning team. They think they have a shot at being a good team this year by finishing with a record above .500 which could happen, but in all due respect, it's a long, long shot at best. Some actually think that Paul Kruger is a good player and some hated to see draft bust Barkevious Mingo traded to the Pats. Literally speaking, Browns fans are delusional as a result of decades of some of the worst football ever played. They are also number one when it comes to choking but most are oblivious to this fact.
All in all, the Browns message board is depressing. Fans banking their season on an over aged and ineffective linebacker (Paul Kruger), a bounce back year for C Cameron Erving and CB Justin Gilbert, an offense that's going to average over 30 points a game, etc., etc. Like I told them, they should've invested in their lines during the draft and free agency but they didn't so a winning record is a pipe dream at this point. One poster got upset with me because I suggested that the Steelitists were a better team than the Browns. Browns fans are a mentally damaged bunch and I don't know if they'll ever recover and I'm not for sure they want to recover. Losing seems to be their lifestyle.

I'm still here and wish there were more posts. Last night our backup offensive line looked horrible. Hunt looked a little bit better but I am still not impressed. First team looked great. What are we going to do with McCarren. I hope we can trade him after the season because he will be a free agent soon. I think after this year.

As you can see, I've started the last few threads in an effort to drum up some interest and more posts. I think we long time posters need to do something to try to get more Bengal fans signed up and posting. I haven't heard from lostwou for some time. Hope she's doing OK. I know she had a lot on her plate some time back. Any ideas about getting more fans on this site would be much appreciated. The Bengals have the best back-up QB in the league. I really think Hue Jackson will make a play for him but I doubt the Bengals will trade him to a division foe. McCarron is worth a second round draft pick or they could trade for an all-pro player at another position such as center. Defensive end would be another position of interest. Glad to hear from you Choco. -77

77 you know I love you brother but you gotta understand a thing or two. Die hard football fans like yourself don't understand this basic concept and they try to compare it to when baseball starts in the spring and the buzz around it. It's all timing. Nobody is talking about football because the season hasn't started yet, the starters rarely play and hey it's the middle of the summer! When life is at it's fullest volume and there is an infinite amount of activity. Most of the time people aren't even indoors much less near a computer. Unless I am sick I am outside 7 days a week nearly all day and many times til dark or later. But things will pick up once we start playing. Right now between all the injuries we don't know what we are even going to look like as a team and losing top draft picks and having our 2nd best receiver sidelined doesn't inspire woo woos. Personally I think we will be good and I can't wait til the season starts.

I just hope that all those that poke their nose in to view/read our posts start posting themselves. We won't bite guys. I promise. We need to expand.

Yeah the big problem is how many people did we retain after the old board got nixed? And how many people that are Bengals fans can even find this place? 2 very good questions. I know on the old board the activity got low IMO because most of us could see where it was going and there was a big divide amongst fans. I think whomever is here now does not share the blind faith many of the other posters on the old board did. We'll see but I am pretty excited heading into the season. Last year at this time I was indifferent. Seeing Dalton up his game was a revelation for me. It has made all the difference in the world.

I'm here. The regular season is upon us now so I'll be here more frequently. I'm still entrenched with the Reds rebuild but it's time for football mode. During training camp the only thing I do is scan the injury report. It has been a bit frustrating to see. Especially Jackson and Billings. I would've like to seen growth and reps this year instead of rehab. It's time for Dennard to show up too. I think the Bengals are going to be very competitive this year. I see a playoff appearance and hoping for a deep playoff run.

Losing Jackson and Billings hurts, but I think the most significant loss is that of DT Marcus Hardison. Hardison looked great during last years preseason and again this preseason. It looked like Hardison was poised to have a break out season this year, but his shoulder injury has him on IR for the entire season. Big, big loss. Oh yeah, did I mention that Domata Peko sucked today and needs replaced ASAP? Just in case I didn't, here goes; Marvin Lewis, Domata Peko needs to be replaced ASAP! He's no longer effective. His playing days should've ended two to three years ago but you refuse to replace him. What gives? Pat Sims or DeShawn Williams are much better options.

Fact is (as Rod can tell you) i have become a Facebook junky. Most of my "on line goofing off" is on FB instead of the board. I have to find time to start posting again. Hope you are all well and....Steelers suck !

JJ every once in a while the numbers go on the blink. It just happens. Like you I sit here and watch races a lot at the computer and am on Facebook. When I'm not doing that I usually am not even near a computer. I hate the tablet I got but most of my posting is done when I get home and am doing races. When I'm done I am totally done and just hibernate!

Oh, I'm still here. Lurking. Enjoying the conspiracy theories about how the Steal-ers (?) and the refs are to blame. How about stop the run every once and a while. Jeez - Williams is an old man.
