After 2 nice comebacks the last 2 games Blake fucking Wood blew both of them. This was an offseason signing that they are going to holy hell lengths to justify with an endless leash.

Blake Wood is an odd bird so far. He was not so great the 1st half, but certainly better than most in that bullpen. Then the 2nd half comes, and he was outstanding, until BAM! he hits the wall again, and blows a couple of games. In some respects he reminds me of Jumbo. He should be pretty darn good, but he's really not. Him and Jumbo will be long shots at being in this revamped bullpen next season.

He should be pretty darn good, but he's really not. Him and Jumbo will be long shots at being in this revamped bullpen next season. Didn't Wood miss all of last year with some sort of arm issue? Could be finding his groove early in the year, finally hitting his stride, and now possibly hitting a bit of dead arm just from where he wasn't able to throw last year. I don't want to make excuses, but it's plausible. I definitely would like to see him back with the team next year as I think we can get of full year like what we saw in the middle of the year. |
