Been meaning to do a whole stat and whatnot thread about this but just got home to see Iglesias wrap up another win to make us 19-12 which gives us the 3rd best record since the break only to the Cubs(24-8) and Mariners(19-11). But I'll do the stat crap later just wanted to know how you're feelin out there?
We've been waiting all season to see the pitching get healthy and sort itself out and for some new faces on offense. Haven't seen quite the overhaul we wanted but we are starting to see a spark become a fire and a new spirit and identity emerge for this team and I don't care what has transpired up to this point this is is not only good to see but damn fun too!
How we doin out there in Redsland proper?

How we doin out there in Redsland proper? One of the things I have noticed already, is that this team doesn't have a fear of the Cardinals anymore. Granted, we had the blow up in the 9th, but overall, this group of guys looks at the Cardinals as just another team. As I stated in your recap thread. I think the keys to this team are Winker and Senzel. Those two guys provide some decent power with a high OBP, and relatively low K numbers, and this team will be very solid. I really wish they would rush Senzel, and get him to Pensacola before the season ends, that way he could possibly be here some time next year. If he's good enough to get here next year, and Winker shines, then this team could be a Wild Card team as soon as next year. The only hole I see is at 2nd base, because I'm not sure BP's replacement will be much of an offensive weapon.

The boom and bust pattern is fading. These 2 guys might not even have 30 HR power but will hit and will get on base and will strike out infrequently. That is an asset for a team sport in a run starved age. The big difference I am seeing is in attitude. The thought of the rebuild has sunk in. Time to form a new identity. Veterans take stock of the situation and be an influence. It's happenning. And after a lot of painful months for all of us. To see the spark. The tiniest inkling of change and turn around is what I live for. We are seeing it my brother from another mother!
