I admit I was watching sporadically because I was cooking but other than not scoring the 1st unit offense looked good hogging the ball. Young receivers especially the big return was awesome.
1st unit D was solid. Because that corps is in place and the D coordinator still here I don't worry about the other departures.
Seemed like a pretty routine preseason game more for them to evaluate potential roster candidates than for us to get a really good idea of anything.
What do you think?

I stated this on another post. Three plays on Friday created the loss for the Bengal although it is preseason. I think they looked good. One play was the missed 48 yard field goal, another was failing to make a first down on 4th down (or kicking a field goal), and another was not getting a safety. You can add to these failings not getting a two point conversion. Atkins looked awesome. Hunt appears that he will not make the team. If it were regular season we would have taken the field goal or gone for a one point conversion to take it to overtime.

DT Marcus Hardison was my favorite player in last years draft, so I was pleasantly surprised when the Bengals selected him in round four. The good news is that Hardison looked great vs. the Vikings. They couldn't block him and they even triple teamed him for one play. This is huge in the wake of DT Andrew Billings season ending injury. I really wish Billings could play this year, but with the way Hardison, Dean and Williams are playing, I don't think he will be that missed. Losing WJIII is another story.

Our first team offense and defense looked much better than that of the Vikings. The Vikings first TD was scored by their first team offense vs. the Bengals second team defense. Our cats are good. DTs Williams and Dean should make the 53 man roster now that Billings is out for the season. |

I was bed ridden for a week sick and literally was off the grid for a week so I never got to this! |

The team has good depth and they need to make the most of it early in the season. The Cats have a tough schedule to open the year. |
