The future 22 year old middle infield tandem can play everyday with each other at Louisville since that area is clogged up like a college frat house toilet here with at least 1 turd swirling the bowl! Let em work together a month til the minor league season is over then bench Phillips when called up in September. Meanwhile I saw Renda as an afterthought but he has made some nice strides this year. Has a very nice BB to K rate, well he doesn't K! And can actually put the ball in play via average too. Amazing these days when somebody can do that without power, seriously. And Schebler has had around a 1.100 OPS for 2 months now so at least we are getting to see some new faces and two other young guns are getting to play with each other everyday. Progress. Good to see some. www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.cgi?id=renda-001tonwww.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=t416&player_id=594988#/splits/R/hitting/2016/MINORS

Hopefully Schebler can play everyday up here, as we saw what he was doing with consistent AB's in Louisville. If he loses starts to Tyler Holt, I'm going to lose my freakin' mind.

I think it's a great idea to pair Peraza and the new SS and get them ready too since they don't have the cajones to bench BP's arse. I think Zart' will be a waiver trade this month, he's too consistent and w/ his pop why wouldn't some of the contenders want him down the stretch?

No reason to platoon. His last two months in Louisville speaks volumes to me. If you tinker with that, the patience I have in this organization is dwindling with each day.

We're 4 months in and my hunger for baseball is at March levels because we haven't see much of what we should have. Let's friggin go.

Schebler just got 3 hits including a 3 run walkoff BOMB that might've bounced into the damned Ohio!

He looked good tonight. This should solidify his position.

That thing was a mile high and landed past the visitors bullpen. Was about 10-15 feet from being out of the stadium!
It just goes to show that young players getting infrequent at bats and riding the pine does them no good. People over the years on here are judging players because of these sporadic at bats. This guy goes down to Louisville and goes about his business, finds his stroke, and comes up still glowing white hot. What a concept huh?! LOL!!

I hope they don't give up on Renda. I know he has started out slow, but this kid is like a Ryan Freel in so many ways, except for he's not crazy, and he's very smart. Renda can play all over the place, and like Freel, he knows he has to go all out to succeed. He was the catapult for an excellent Cal team, Pac 10 Player of the year his Sophomore season, and even better numbers his Junior year. He can be an excellent utility player for this team, and will be much better than a DeJesus, or Holt. There are some kids in this organization that are very solid, and can contribute better than the DeJesus' and Holt's of the world. I would have liked to see Selsky stay here longer and get a chance. No reason to pay 1 and 2 mil for these bench guys when you have solid guys in your own system that can be paid league minimum.

I'm all for getting a better look at Renda. Holt on the other hand? I've seen enough. Kid can't play the outfield for shit. Takes terrible routes to the ball and I just don't see anything he does well.

I hope they don't squander his talents also.

Since our last conversation. Peraza has been called back up and tearing the cover off of the ball. Not too shabby on the base pads either. We're almost in September. I'd like to see him finish out the year on the big club, starting at SS everyday. When and if Cozart gets healthy. He should ride the pine.

The reality is, it ain't going to happen. Cozart is having a solid year, and benching him would really hurt his numbers, and consequently his trade value; not to mention his arbitration numbers, which would not sit well with the union. Regarding Peraza, I'm very pleasantly surprised, because I'm in the corner that says this kid will never be much of a big-league ballplayer due to his low OBP, and lack of Walks. I'm also pleasantly surprised with his defense at SS. Everything I saw from him at 2nd base was horrible; he's solid at SS though. I'd love to be wrong on this kid, but I am still not sold.
