I think with the volume of good young pitching arms we have it will work itself out with 4-5 guys stepping up to claim rotation spots and leaving some very capable arms in the bullpen. How we are in 2018 is solely dependent on the offense. Can Suarez rebound? Will Peraza flourish getting everyday PT? Can Hamilton keep getting better? Can Mesoraco stay healthy? Will Senzel be here? Is Duvall a fluke? Can Schebler, Yorman, or Winker stake claim to be an everyday OF? Lots or questions I don't think can easily be answered. How they are answered will dictate how good we are in 2018.

That peice makes me feel kind of confident about the future of this team. I think we need to go ahead and write off Mesaraco though. He makes a good case for the pitching down the road. Hell, it's still too early to say anything about 2018. And what about the manager? Surely Price is just a lame duck manager right now, keeping him while the team's morale is at rock bottom. I wouldn't want to put our future manager in his position right now with this s team.

The thing that worries me is Walt is still the speaking head. Rosenthal and Rosecrans interviews recently. Williams should be front and center taking on these interviews. Who's going to be making the trade deadline deals. I sure hope it's not Walt. It's Dick's team in the future. He should be doing these deals. How's it going to work out. What if they both disagree with trade agreements. Who wins out. This is something that could be catastrophic. Walt screwing us again with his archaic thinking. If Dick is the man he should be the man. He's been with the organization for ten years. How much longer does he need his hand held. Bob you've screwed everything up to this point. Don't screw this up.

The only thing that worries me other than we have no systematic player development and an ownership that can't admit how inept they are is that this organization moves so glacially slow that the new GM still can't move to the head of the class and speak. We aren't even in a rebuild we are stuck in an Ice Age...
