Been seeing a few rumors floating that when Reds return home after the all star game he will get job.
He is current cards bench coach I believe. That tell me one of two things if rumor is true. 1. Matheny and upper management think very highly of bell and are willing to grant permission to reds a division club to talk to him or 2. They don't think he will make a good manager. As we know lots of good coaches make horrible managers.
If/when Price is gone I'll start following some again. Who ever replacement is will probably be garbage but the I'm willing to give him benefit of doubt for a season or two. Till then I'm totally done till least opening day. I can handle losing . I can handle struggles of young players. I can't handle these blowouts day after day and nearly every young player regressing under prices watch.the vibe of not giving a shit. The mental heads not in the game errors drive me crazy.im sick of the nightly base running non sense. I'm sick of Phillips. Never liked him but admit he was once a good player. He now is below a replacement level player. Not hustling. Bruce seems to be about the only vet that willhustle.again this club will regret trading him. I do though believe he has to be traded. I saw where he wants to stay but said the 8 teams that are on his no trade list that he would waive it for all 8. Says he wants what's best for him and reds. I doubt you will ever hear those words from Phillips. Duvall is 27 gives terrible at bats. Never walks. He will struggle to hit .200 moving forward. Hope im wrong. I will wouldn't give him away but this club needs guys who can get on base way more than they need power. Nearly every hitter playing 81 games in the bandbox is capable of 15 plus homers. Sorry bout long rant
