Excepting the Rangers series we have been Mendoza line material for 5 of the last 6 series so what's new? Here's the dismal line vs the Cubs and the last 6 series of offense totaling 19 games. Right at the point we ended our run of 7 runs a game. Telling you we lost our edge in that series loss to St Louis. Haven't been the same since. We even stopped hitting with RISP, which has been a season strength.

The other piece of bad news. You guessed it, pitching. We have had all of 5 quality starts in the last 16 games. And as bad as the bullpen has been they have been over a full run better in ERA to the rotation in the last 16. Very tough feat to accomplish.

JJ Hoover was the icing on the crap cake but they all were bad in this series. Minus the Hoover debacle the bullpen had pitched 18.1 innings and allowed 4 ER which was good for a 1.96 ERA.
