Just as a reminder for those interested, the 2016 Senior Bowl will be played this Saturday, January 30, at 1:30 PM. This game is loaded with talent like never before. It's obvious that players are aware that the Senior Bowl can really improve ones draft stock and that's why so many are taking advantage.
Lost and I have brought up quite a few players that we're interested in, but there are a lot more and many of them will be playing in this game. At least one or two of these players will more than likely be a Bengal within the next four months, maybe more.
Some of the players that I'll be paying extra attention to beside those that I've already listed on other threads are:
NORTH
DE Carl Nassib, Penn State. Looks like a Steeler to me, but the Bengals may want to swoop in and snatch him up. Good height and weight with a non-stop motor. Led the nation in sacks with 15. Is he fast enough? I really liked watching this guy go up against Ohio State the last couple of years.
DC Eric Murray, Minnesota. There are better corners in this game on both sidelines, but Murray has impressed me for quite some time having watched him play against Ohio State a time or two. Could he be a nice mid to late round pick?
DT Austin Johnson, Penn State. The Bengals need to find someone that can plug up the middle of their defense and stop the run. It's been the most overlooked problem all season and may be the teams biggest concern heading into the draft. Johnson is a noted run stuffer but I'm leery of drafting a Penn State d-linemen because so may have become busts once entering the NFL.
WR Tajae Sharpe, UMass. Another one of those thin, fast wide outs the Bengals should look at.
SOUTH
DE Bronson Kaufusi, Brigham Young. Very tall and good weight. Just what the Bengals like in their DEs.
OG Cody Whitehair, Kansas State. The Bengals need to do a better job at run blocking and Cody Whitehair could be a round two steal.
WR Malcom Mitchell, Georgia. Another thin, fast WR that the team should take a hard look at. Besides, the Bengals have had pretty good luck drafting Bulldogs.
This is just a small sample of the talent that will be on display this Saturday. There are a lot of players on both sidelines that could really help the Bengals this coming season.
