Classic Pete. Everyone else on the field in Red sports coat, yet he's in his usual untucked button down shirt, white ball cap, and white tennis shoes. The fact that he never gave a fuck what anyone thought of him makes him even bigger in my book. Lou Gehrig, Ted Williams, Jeter, and the like always had to watch their image, but Rose said fuck it. He is who he is.

I loved it Andy. I don't care what he did. He deserves this.Nothing he did to be banned happened during his playing career. Well maybe late as player manager. I am just happy he lived long enough to get to enjoy this honor. Loved the dig he took about his statue not being till next year. Said Bob knew if he waited till next year he would have another sellout.
I am for booting Kelch,Welch,Thom etc all. Just let Pete broadcast all Reds game. That would be must see tv even in a shitty year.

I get the why on the issues but when it comes to baseball and just as a regular guy, there is nobody I could talk or listen to as much as Pete. Love him. |

Right now with very little experience he tops most of the guys we have. I like Welsch but the top 3 if Pete were in broadcasting in this order would be Marty-Pete-Cowboy. |

Rose is all about making a dollar, if they offered him enough dough he'd be down for anything. He wouldn't be good as the straight play by play man, but he'd be great as color commentator.
He was good last year on MLB tv until he started making controversial statements. Even then I still thought he was entertaining. The fact that he's not politically correct in this day and age hurts his chances at broadcasting.

I am happy for Pete and his fans. No, I did not watch it.
I do hope this is the end but Im sure a statue is coming maybe as soon as next year. I will ignore that too.
He will never be admitted to Cooperstown MLB HOF and he will never be back in baseball again nor should he.
