Finnegan vs. Waino. Wainwright's been downright bad so far this season, 5.4'ish era so this might bode well for a series W over the hated red birds. I think we all knew w/ Simon on the hill that the reds didn't have much of a chance yesterday, although the bats did show up. Can't believe the bounceback yr. by Bruuuce, a shame he kind of disappeared the last couple yrs. and hastened this breakdown/retooling.

2-1 reds, Finny looking good.
It's Nick Senzel, 3B from Tennessee. Baseball America had him as the 5th best prospect.
"Senzel will be a high-average, high-OBP hitter with moderate power, but with some adjustments that could change in favor of additional ISO with the loss of some batting average. The OBP should remain strong at all levels given Senzel's feel for the zone," wrote our John Sickels at Minor League Ball in April. "Senzel will be a first round pick and his bat should get him to the majors fairly rapidly."
Senzel hit .352/.456/.595 with eight home runs and 25 doubles as a junior in 2016 at Tennessee and was named second-team All-SEC and a Louisville Slugger third-team All-American.

If he can be in the ballpark of any of those you mentioned, the reds did extremely well.

I'm happy with the Senzel pick. He could make it up here quick. His walk to S/O ratio is awesome. Makes contact , contact, contact. We can get Saurez out of 3rd base too. He's killing me there. We have two more picks tonight. Let's hope they make it count.

I happy with the draft we had tonight for the most part. Senzel was the player I wanted with the 1st pick, and the Reds did the smart thing to pass on Puk to take him.
Our Compensation pick Trammel, may have been someone they weren't eyeing, but fell to them. Baseball America has him as their #12 prospect. Very raw, but also a real high ceiling. Difference between Trammel and Hamilton is that Trammell with have a lot more power potential
It's the 2nd rd pick Chris Okey is who I wasn't as excited about. I think I'd rather of had the big LH HS pitcher Atlanta took right behind us. With Mesoraco's injury issues, and Stephenson's health issues this year, I understand the pick. I think he'll jump Stephenson(by that I mean playing at a higher level) in the system.

The final Mock draft from mlb.com's 2 experts both had Senzel to the Reds. One had Trammel at 21, the other at 32. Both guys had Okey going 31. So in the final mock draft, the Reds ended up with 3 1st rounders.

Sounds good on paper, but remember Hamilton was compared to Ricky Henderson. Senzel is built to hit though. The catcher from Clemson we picked up looks promising too.

Good to see Tony Disco back on the bump tonight. Got hit around a bit, but was lucky and limited the damage to only a run in 6 innings. Duvall continues to be clutch w/ a potential game winning double off of Gray who was crazy good. 2-1 reds, well played game so far.

If Disco can give us a 4th pitcher with fairly regular QS we could rack some wins up and look like some semblance of a team. I hope whatever trades we make if we don't get an A prospect we get someone that provides now solutions for the bullpen.
