& the Weekly Report Card Transactions: Louisville: Pensacola: Didn't Winker have a wrist injury last year that slowed him down? How long is his DL stint going to be Brad? Yeah, he had a torn tendon in his right wrist after a car accident. The issue once again is his right wrist, which is causing him issues in holding the bat. He was actually pulled from a game last weekend, the team did an MRI, didn't announce the results, but said he was day to day. The fact it took the team 6 days to add him to the DL makes me think it's not too bad and may just need some rest, but I haven't seen anything official

Doesn't this worry you? It does me. We saw this happen with the Alonso and he was never the same. You keep waiting for the takeoff stats with players. You know. Then they just hit the skids and start spinning wheels, especially in this organization. At least offensively. How you feelin about all this?

What worries me as much as anything is this organization's complete inability to develop any thing that looks like a hitter. If you look through the stats...AA hitters are at .243(8/10 teams); High-A .236(10 of 12); & Low A .224(15 of 16). I don't know if it's a scouting issue or a development issue, but every top hitting prospect we've drafted lately(Gelalich, Blandino, Ervin, Stephenson, Sparks, Trahan, Ranier, Franklin) are all guys taken in the 1st 3 rounds, and none of which get me excited. Winker is the only one, and he hasn't been great this year. Right now, Senzel may be our top hitting prospect...kinda sad. The hitter who's probably been the best so far this year is Tony Renda...and that's because he hasn't been here long enough for us to fuck him up yet.

This might be an over dramatization but I feel like when I compare our prospects to St Louis' for example ours look like .260/320 and theirs like .310/.420 when they call them up. We have been cold calling MF's for years and there doesn't seem to be any self realization going on in the minors. Joey Votto did develop at Chattanooga. Guys are going to die at AA in our organization and it has me all fucked up. I know it does you too.
