The Reds have the #2 pick coming up in this years draft. I haven't done much homework yet. I've read it's pitching heavy. Which way do they go? Pitcher or Position? College or High School? Best player available or need? Brad you might have more insight into this. What do you guys think or want?

I really don't have much insight, but I hope there is a highly rated position player from college available, and that would be the route I take.

Yeah I think how far away we are is not as bad as it feels right now. I admit to not paying as much attention to the minor leagues once we started to slip out of contention these last few seasons but Brad and a lot of other people are saying our farm system is in pretty good shape. Still I would go the college player route and get the best position player available. I think our pitching is going to be fine. I honestly think that by the time we sign a new tv deal and start to sift through these minor league bodies to see what we have and execute some more player movement in the process we will be right back in it. Look at the dogshit pile Houston crawled out of to be a playoff team this year!

It didn't look very strong last year but maybe the new acquisitions pan out and strengthen the ML team in the next couple years. You add a couple more years of high draft picks with quality players maybe this team crawls out of the cellar in 3-5 years. This is a few year rebuild we don't have to get it all now. Get a #1 starter and a cornerstone hitter to build upon this could be a nice team in a few years. Let's hope we hit on our picks and trade acquisitions.

With the second pick in the first round the Reds choose... A relief pitcher that they think they can turn into a starter. Sadly that is their MO

I think that's mostly because they are closer to the big leagues. I've read a few articles saying the mid to lower minors have some good players. I haven't looked much though.

Guy who started last board blew a gasket when we criticized the coaches after loss to Steelers. It got ugly. I'm used to being told fuck you. I get over it and move on! Anyway how'd you find your way here?
