Getting closer 2 the draft my thoughts. There's obviously a tug of war between Sewell and Chase. 5 months ago my thoughts would have been Sewell no brainer. I wouldn't be upset at either pick it's so close. But I'm leaning slightly toward Chase. Why? First the draft is loaded with OL. Chase is clearly the best WR and you have the Burrow connection. We have to replace Green. Chase would give us arguably best WR trio in the league you can still get a tackle in rd2 that would be an upgrade over anyone we have now. What bothers me about Sewell pick is this. Chase would make immediate impact which is what you should expect from a top 5 pick. But,let's forget the name Sewell. You're talking about drafting a RT at pick 5 over Chase. That's crazy. There would be a better argument for Sewell if you plan to start him at LT and put Williams at RT. I would never draft a RT that high. You can get a RT rd 2 or a LT. We have Reif for a year. So you take a tackle rd 2. That gives us a better chance this year at a winning season. You still have next year's FA and draft to continue OL IF the pick a don't work out but it will. They can even get a starting guard rd 3. Thoughts?

I have been wanting to answer your post. Can't argue with your logic but I have always favored the OL or DL. You can't miss with Sewell or Chase from all I read. Sewell can play RG, LG, LT or RT. It is going to be interesting. Lots of OL and WR available. Witch one do they pick, Chase or Sewell or surprise us with Pitts or Slater? These are the Bengals you know!
Now the important question. Will 77 return with his knowledge or that least let us know where we can find where he is posting?

If I remember correctly 77 was upset over burrow getting hurt said he wasn't going to support the Bengals anymore he may not come back I don't know I've been extremely busy coaching and my new job as a stock broker takes up a lot of time. I'm retiring from coaching in just a few weeks, but I continue to add clients to my pool of investors. I haven't had time to post a mock draft this year and I'm not as familiar with the players in this draft as I usually am. Anyway, here's a quickie two round mock of who I HOPE the Bengals draft and not who I think they'll draft. Round One: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida. Offensive line is a big need, but with the addition of Riley Reiff, the Bengals aren't as desperate to secure the edges. Plus, there's plenty of good tackles that will be around in rounds 2 and 3. Also, I'm not sold on Sewell. Was he a one year wonder? Personally, I think he's the real deal, but a top five real deal? Instead of taking an OT, the Bengals go with TE Kyle Pitts who is already being projected as a possible HALL OF FAMER! The last two guys that received that praise was Junior Seau and Rod Woodson. Two Hall of Famer's. You simply can't pass up talent like Pitts if he's still available. Pitts also fills a void on the team, can easily move the chains, but he also offers big time playmaking ability. He would make an excellent target for Burrow especially if running hot routes or using his body to grab passes thrown under duress. Adding WR Jamarr Chase would improve the team, but IMO, not as much as Pitts due to the fact the Bengals are much stronger at WR than TE. Pitts offers another dimension that defenses will have to account for every snap. Big, big upside. Round Two A: Alex Leatherwood, OT, Alabama. Alex Leatherwood definitely has the ability and footwork to be a good OT in the league. Alex can run and pass block and is strong enough to anchor against most defenders. What I really like about Leatherwood is his attitude. This guy plays at an extremely high aggressive level and wears his emotions on his sleeves. He's not in this draft to just receive a hefty paycheck, this guy wants to win every game and to find a guy like that in round two is a big bargain. Round Two B: Creed Humphrey, C/G, Arkansas. The Bengals make some trades to get back into round two and IMO, steal Creed Humphrey. I don't know why so many are down on this guy? From what I saw in 2019, he's one of the best interior linemen to come out in a few years. Plug and play at RG and groom to eventually become the teams C if need be. After two rounds, the Bengals grab two guys to protect Burrow and an outstanding offensive weapon in Pitts. This draft must focus on making Burrow the best QB in the league which he will become if the right guys are put around him.

I like leatherwood pick but I prefer Chase. We are down 3 WR. Higgins and Boyd pretty much only WR we have. Besides falcon probably take Pitts. I like pitts no knock on him.
