So they resigned Bobby Hart. To what I would say decent money. More then he is worth. Made excuses about his poor play. Tells me all I need to know about the new coaching staff. I get the OL is desperate. But not that desperate. Not enough to resign this guy. They wud have been better off with Smith.

Having trouble posting. I don't want you to be alone on this Board Lostwou. I agree with you on Hart. He may have been signed as a backup but if so that was and expensive. He is only 24 which is a positive. He, however, should have shown more at this point. I can only hope the the coaching staff can bring out the best in the team. I think that Cleveland will win the Division. They are wheeling and dealing and have a young team and came on the end of last season. I never thought I would be saying that!!!!

Well with the new coaching staff we are pretty much unknown as far as how good we will be. But I agree theres a good chance browns will be the team in this division and i think ravens might hit bottom if not us. Hard to say how steelers might do also. I think this year will be a changing of the guard unless the browns just implode like they have n the past.

Bengals signed another O Lineman from Buffalo. John Miller, 6'3', 315lbs. Probably an upgrade from Redman, but we shall see. This may mean that the first round pick will not be a OL.

This is from an article for the worst deals made in Free Angency.
OT Bobby Hart to Cincinnati Bengals 3 years, $21M ($5.5M guaranteed)
In free agency, you don't necessarily have to spend big money to make a big mistake. Case in point: The Bengals re-signing their right tackle to a three-year deal despite him being one of the worst offensive linemen in football last season.
A 16-game starter, Hart was one of just four offensive tackles who allowed 10 or more sacks, according to Pro Football Focus. When Hart wasn't letting pass-rushers blow past him, the former seventh-round pick of the New York Giants was a constant flag magnet. Only three players committed more penalties than Hart's 14, which included a mind-boggling nine false start calls.
Hart looked more like someone fighting to stay in the NFL than a player worthy of a contract that will put him inside the top 10 highest-paid right tackles if he hits incentives to increase the $16.15-million base value. The deal won't make or break Cincinnati's season, of course. But for a team short on optimism heading into 2019, rewarding poor players isn't the way to get the Bengals fanbase to believe the Zac Taylor era will be any different to the one that preceded it.

Yeah I'm thinking defense probably either devon white or a cb. then again makes me wonder if they are setting up to draft a QB despite what they say

I actually like the signing of Bobby Hart, but not at that price. Too much money IMO. However, Hart's blocking at times is superb! It's inconsistency that's hurting him. He's still very young, so there's still time for him to become a consistent player. I also like his attitude. Extremely aggressive and a fighter. He won't back down physically to anyone. I like that. Lets just hope he becomes the consistent player he's flashed at times. For now, I think he would make a great back-up. His abilities are that of a back-up and he could learn from a better player by playing behind them. There's still some upside.
