Marty Brennaman said today that the 2019 season will be his last behind the microphone. I've been around a month shy of 42 years on this planet, and ole Marty has been the Reds play by play guy for every single one of those days. Love him or Hate him, dude is a Reds and a baseball institution and nearly the last of the OG of baseball announcers. Hope is the Reds can make his retirement tour a season to remember, and that there will be a lot of "and this one belongs to the Reds" in 2019. Thank you Marty

I am 2 months shy of 52 and Marty is all I have ever known. The first game I can remember listening to on the radio was sometime during the summer of 1974.I was all of 7 and had just started playing baseball my self. 74 was Marty's first season. I am going to miss him. I am going to try and listen to the radio more this season. Yeah he isn't as good as he once was, but he is still very good. Anyone who don't have these I recommend picking up copies of the 75 and 76 seasons highlights on DVD. Should be able to get copies on ebay fairly cheap. I still have both on album form and DVD now as well. Marty was out standing when he was younger. And like I said he is still really good some 46 years later.

I know for sure this year I'm gonna be listening to the radio broadcast most every game I watch. Y'all better get your Marty fix in this season, because I doubt the will ever be anyone like him again. He's from the old school of broadcasting, when voices and personalities stood out, were colorful, entertaining, but put the team over before themselves. Scully, Brenamen, and Uecker were the last of their kind.
