It doesn't look as if Hue Jackson, Darrin Simmons or Bill Lazor are going to become the Bengals next head coach. Or could one of them actually be hired? I wouldn't put it past owner Mike Brown to give we fans the impression that he's trying to hire from outside the organization only to end up and hire from within after all the other viable candidates, such as Josh McDaniels, sign with other teams. Brown is capable of anything. However, if the Brown does end up and hire a legitimate coaching candidate from outside the organization, there are a lot to pick from besides Josh McDaniels and the two Ram candidates that have been mentioned numerously. Below is a video that contains a few of these coaches (I like numbers 2 and 3) and a few that should not be considered. www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1bikAj4mSc

Eric Bienemy is one of my choices. And with MB hiring he is probably the best we can hope for. But I also like the college coach from Oklahoma. I still think we are going to get slapped right in the face with Hue Jackson. Either him or Bill Lazor then again Hue slides right back into OC. MB will interview outside just to make it look good. Unless Katie steps in again and influences him otherwise.

What IF? MB gave Mike Zimmer a call? The Vikings may let him go. I wouldn't have a problem with that. Again I am thinking best case scenarios. We are talking Mike Brown here. Zimmer might want to come back.

I don't like the idea of bringing in Eric Bieniemy. Andy Reid did the play calling. Not Bieniemy. And because of such, we have no idea of how good or bad he would be as the teams head coach. Besides, can a coach as short as Bieniemy garner respect? That may sound terrible, but some truth lies within. Zimmer? Nope. This team needs to hire from outside the organization just to prove that they're capable of doing so. Brown needs to pass on coaching candidates with former ties to the team such as Vance Joseph. An intelligent and strict disciplinarian is what this team needs in the worse way. I too like Lincoln Riley. www.cincyjungle.com/2018/12/30/18109851/nfl-news-top-head-coaching-candidates-bengals-lincoln-riley-josh-mcdaniels

Well we all wanted ML gone including myself. But as I said before. MB is doing the hiring. It could be worse. I hope its not a careful what you wish for thing. I just hope its a coach with some fire and attitude. Its obviously going to be an offensive coach which I like that idea.
Another thought to ponder. Will the new coach want to move on from Dalton as well? If they do this would be the year to do it picking at 11 spot. But QBs are thin this year. This is not out of the question. MB made it clear he never wanted to draft Dalton. This might play a part in who he selects whether he wants to keep him or not. The new coach will have an opinion about that. Whether they think they can work with him and make him better or draft their own QB and start new.

Will a coach come in from the outside and have or not have the ability to have a big input on how to fill out a roster. If I'm an outside guy I'd want that. I believe all the old Bengals coaches will take the job regardless. To me, that's a bad sign nothing will change except attendance will be lower. If I'm a new guy I'd want a new QB eventually. I like Haskins out of Ohio St. but I doubt he's there plus there's more needs than a QB at this time.

Is it possible that the Bengals may hire both Ram coaches? Zac Taylor being hired as the teams head coach and Shane Waldron taking over as the teams OC.

Still my biggest fear is Hue Jackson. They didn't bring him here for nothing. I don't even want him for OC

I will be shocked if they don't give it to Jackson. I think all these interviews is just a smoke screen. MB will say some BS like After interviewing several candidates, we felt we have the best candidate already here who can continue us moving forward. We felt a rebuild would put as back and not necessary. I hope I'm wrong but I know better than to get my hopes up with this organization.

It wouldn't surprise me at all. I like 77s idea of hiring both Rams coaches. Or Bienemy. Assistant coaches who have coached under Reid have been successful unlike coaches under Belechick.

Rumor has it the bengals have their eye on vance joseph or eric bienemy with joseph being the top choice of course. more of the same mike brown. Joseph for DC maybe. I'd rather have bienemy for HC. They have had continued talks with joseph. Maybe for DC? And Bienemy for HC? Mikey boy gets 2 guys he knows.

Well what do you know? This from Cincy Jungle today:
"I don’t believe Waldron, the Rams’ passing-game coordinator, is a legitimate head-coaching target, but he could be the target for Taylor’s offensive coordinator if the latter becomes a head coach, or Waldron could simply replace Taylor in Los Angeles".
I came up with this idea and posted such back on January 3rd on this thread. This is my dream scenario, but I think the odds of it actually coming true are slim. Fingers crossed...

Joseph didn't do anything spectacular as a head coach to warrant a job offer. But Mike Brown is a fan of mediocre to poor coaching, so Joseph probably has a shot which is unfortunate. Why fire Lewis if you're just gonna hire someone similar? Get the pitchforks and torches ready Cincinnati. We may need to raid the castle.
