IF Brandon Dixon claimed by Tigers. RHP Austin Brice claimed by Angels.
Reds claim RHP Matthew Bowman from Cardinals.
Reds outright IF Dilson Herrera and OF Mason Williams to Louisville. Since Herrera and Williams have been outrighted before, both can opt for free agency.
IF Alex Blandino, RHP Keury Mella, and OF Jesse Winker activated from the 60-day DL.
40-man roster is at 38 right now.
I'm a bit surprised Dixon was let go, but they might have been trying to sneak him to AAA. Not as surprised about Herrera and I would imagine he'll opt for free agency. So, that should clear the road even more for Senzel, once he's past the super two date.

I would kick the tires on Josh Harrison. Pirates let him go. See if he would take a 1 year deal 3-4 mil. Not as a starter but as a UTL guy. He can play 2B 3B LF RF. In a pinch SS CF 1B though he hasn't played those spots much at all. Local guy seemed to revive Scooter. Of course Harrison is 3 years older. First priority though of course is spend on pitching first.

I really liked the pitching coach we got from the Brewers. He was highly thought of around the league. I wouldn't be surprised to see Reds go after Wade Miley. Johnson revived his career. And I think Miley is a free agent.

I don't know if I would go after another utility guy like that with what we have in house. Especially when Senzel will be called up eventually. If Senzel can come up and play 6 or 7 positions, you're probably looking at 20 games per position (roughly, give or take) that a utility guy would fill in. That's 120-140 games a year over a full season. Of course, that would limit the time that your other bench pieces get to play, so that's no good. I'm just tired of seeing the offensive guys taking a collective shit with the bats down the stretch. It's like they are already checked into their offseason plans as soon as the calendar turns to September. So, using a STRONG bench to counter the season long fatigue that will obviously kick in seems extremely important.

I'm interested in what he can do as well. He had the Brewers ERA improved to 4th best in the league. The way it read was that was over the three years that he was there, not just this past season. And he did it with what?? A collection of pitchers that weren't expected to do all that much!
Another thing that caught my eye was that he spent 10-11 years at Vanderbilt before joining the pro ranks of coaching. During that time, he coached 13 pitchers that went on to become pros, including David Price and Sonny Gray. Gray has been the name that I've seen mentioned most often that could be on the Reds' radar now. (Followed by Miley)

Anthony Castroneves on MLB.com made his predictions on the major free agent landing spots, and he predicted Nathan Eovaldi to the Reds.

Early indications are the Reds have interest in Patrick Corbin, Dallas Keuchel, & JA Happ, as well as bringing back Matt Harvey.

Iglesias signed to 3-year deal. Didn't read the specifics, if available yet.
