This should make us all think about keeping those promises to get together with people, and stop putting it off. I lost a family member last week, and we had been talking about visiting the old Polish neighborhood in Baltimore. Now, cannot do that.
I actually manipulated a business trip recently, to spend an extra day in Cincinnati next month, just to be able to down a few cold ones with Rod. Again, cannot do that now. And, I canceled the trip and have a staff member filling in. I dont want to deal with the emotion.
Too many friggin cliches about life being too short, etc etc. I only knew Rod through Social Media, but felt like I had been friends with him for a long time. You have to be careful who you share real names with on social media but, there are several on this board that I did so without fear. Rod was one of the first. Not ashamed to say I cried when PJ told me this....cried for someone I never really met. That says something about Rod Denton, the man !
The game this Thursday will have a HUGE vacuum for me.

I agree with you. I like most talked with Rod many years on several different boards. We talked about meeting up for a Reds game more than once. Work,Life things kept getting in the way. Now it is too late. Like you JJ I had tears in my eyes as well when I found out.

I have been out of town for over two weeks and did not have access to this site. I am shocked like everyone else. I am going to miss his comments. I hope we do not lose this site or if we have to join a different one together.

I miss Rod and think about him every day. Now his beautiful Fiance Darlene and my wife Gloria have both joined him in Heaven. PJ

I miss Rod and think about him every day. Now his beautiful Fiance Darlene and my wife Gloria have both joined him in Heaven. PJ So sorry to hear PJ. My condolences. This board has turned into something much greater than football... life itself which has included the good and the bad. When I started posting back in 2007, Cameron was still with me. This Saturday, October 30th, will mark the 13th year I've been without him. Take care PJ. There's quite a few of us that think a lot of you and wish you and your family the best in these life altering times. Stay in touch and drop a post whenever you feel like it. -77
