Just read about what happened.
I'm shocked. Stunned.
Part of me is expecting Rod to reappear, claiming it was a big morbid joke.
Bitching about the Reds just isn't going to be the same now. Rod took it to a new level.

Man, I hope you aren't saying what I think you're saying. I've conversed with Rod on various Red's boards for about 15 years and have always considered him a good friend. A very cool dude.

Unfortunately, I am saying that. An accident while he was at work. It's not going to be the same anymore.

Just saw this on Facebook a few moments ago. Rod's girlfriend Darlene's sister sent out a prayer request, saying that he was killed in a terrible accident yesterday (don't know what happened though). I'm utterly shocked. I have loved the back and forth that we have had for roughly 14 years now, on Red's boards. We had some bitter fights, but got to be pretty good friends who never even met in person. We emailed one another, conversed on Facebook, and of course in the Red's threads. Rod, as many of you know was "crazy", and "rebellious" in many ways. But over the last year or so, I think we all saw his demeanor cool an awful lot. That's because he was utterly smitten with his girlfriend Darlene. Rod was so at peace, finally. I am so sad for his daughter and grandson, and of course Darlene. My prayers go out to all of them. RIP Rod, you left us fellow Red's fans WAY TOO SOON! ...Chris

What the hell? I just saw a pic of him on Facebook and wouldn't have thought anything of it if I hadn't happened to have read Chris' post below it. Im truly in shock right now. Even though we never met in person, it's still a devastating loss as I considered him a true friend. Thoughts and prayers for his family and friends.
I know some of y'all don't do Facebook, but if anyone is interested in getting up something together for the family or whatever I'll be more than willing to contribute. A flower arrangement or card or anything to show our sympathy.
I don't know what else to say. Jesus, man...

Found this in the Cincinnati paper. Sad Sad news.
A Green Township contractor was electrocuted Thursday when a ladder he was using came in contact with power lines.
Delhi Police Lt. Joe Macaluso said Roderick Denton, 45, of Green Township was working at the Delshire Apartments in the 4400 block of Glenhaven Road in Delhi Township at the time of the accident.
Macaluso said the contractor apparently came in contact with the live power lines at about 11:36 a.m., when some residents of the complex reported their power went out. Macaluso said the power line was tripped by the contact with the ladder.
Police said a resident of the complex noticed the ladder against the wire, went out onto his balcony to check and saw Denton. He and office personnel called 911 and attempted lifesaving measures, which were unsuccessful.
Officials from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration were on the scene and the accident remains under investigation.

Prayers go out to you Lindz. I know you guys were tight. Thanks Brian and yes baseball is his favorite. It’s been a surreal couple of days. I’m still trying to wrap my head around it. For some of you that do not know, Rod and I have been lifelong friends and brothers. Our families are very close too. We started out in 1st grade together all the way through high school. We played sports and music together. Our friendship was strong then but our senior year Rod and my sister had a baby girl together ( my niece) and later the grand babies. Our friendship bonded with blood and family. We were two peas in a pod. We liked the same music, Reds, Bengals and drinking. We talked politics, religion, taking over the world. Weddings, baptisms, birthday parties. You name it. We did it. He loved and thrived off the name Rodneck. I remember when his cousin first called him that. His eyes lit up and the Rodneck was born. Then the nickname had a nickname. Neck. He brought me to this board, got me started in fantasy baseball. It’s such a tragedy. He had a lot of positive things going on in his life and I was so happy for him and looking to share in the adventure with him. I’m going to miss him so much. He was a big part of our family. Reading your messages warms my heart. I see he touched everyone in here. Next chance you get turn on some Pantera, drink a Coors Light and do it Rodneck style. Loud and Proud.

Linz, I'm really sorry about Rod. I lost my best friend in a skiing accident 12 years ago. It's not easy, and the silver lining is, you'll think of Rod at so many times in your life ahead, and smile, because, well, just because. You'll know what I mean in due time. Rod and I had some knock down drag out battles on these threads over the last 14 years or so, but in many ways, we were like brothers who were polar opposites that never met in person. In fact, he'd often tell me I was like an older "wiser" brother. I never knew I could miss someone whom I've never actually met, but I will. Wishing you God Speed Linz, because I know some hard days will follow, as you deal with the loss of such a close friend...Chris
