Steelers were beating their own chests after last victory, I didn't like that. It is hard to beat a team 2 times in one season in their home stadium I really don't have a good feeling about this one for me, it looks like you guys may do it this time! PJ

Johnny that's the default avatar I put in!! The stock one was even worse lol!
Read the Monday meltdown thread. The Virus who started the last board couldn't handle us criticizing the coaches and was calling people out, even 77 who is mellow as hell. We told him to fuck off! So he pulled the plug. That's it. Sucks I can't get a hold of people. This board will last.

PJ We could flip a coin but you guys have been playing better ball lately. You play to win, we play not to lose. Vast gulf between those 2 realities. I'm wishing and a hoping but I think our coaches sans Guenther are pussies!

Players often adopt the personality of their head coach. Unfortunately, Lewis has a very passive, non-aggressive personality that just doesn't work in today's NFL. Throw in his lack of discipline and you basically have Mr. Roger's coaching this team.
Like I've stated in the past, the only way the Bengals are going to win it all with Lewis at the helm is if enough players stand up and basically 'make it happen'.

Lewis stands on the sidelines like hes on a mood stabilizer. I'm not really sure what his job description is. He stands there with his arms folded most of the game. Rarely do I see him converse with the players or coaches. He looks more like a spectator than anything. Clock management is horrible. I could go on but we all know the issues there.

Lewis is much better suited to be an assistant coach and there's nothing wrong with that. Sean Payton would be at the top of my list as far as a replacement for Lewis goes.

Yeah people/fans can't separate church from state on this subject. If you criticize ML you almost aren't allowed to sing his praises elsewhere as if it were a betrayal to him/them and a contradiction of your own opinion when in reality this is exactly what it is. Marvin has been an above average coach for us but his biggest contribution has been what he has done overall in the organization. He gets accolades for that but he's still a poor field coach. It amazes me just how badly he is managing time which is as basic as it gets.

It amazes me just how badly he is managing time which is as basic as it gets.h I'm currently coaching a girls basketball team. I also helped out on a high school football team for a couple of years. But my specialty is softball and baseball which I've coached off and on since 2005 and I've had my share of success. But regardless of how much success a coach has, all of us are aware that we'll have our critics. That's why it's important for coaches to grow a thick layer of skin so that as a coach you can keep on - keeping on and producing good players and winning records. Another words, Lewis has to learn to accept the bad with the good which shouldn't be a problem if he's confident in what he's doing.
