Spring Training:Finally In March!

One thing for sure that I have saw out of Reed is the difference in his delivery from inning one to the third inning on. Very very stiff robotic to begin. Now he has a ton of whip. And pitching much better. Of course that may be easily corrected pre-game. Bailey was the exact same way his first season. Never finished until late second or third inning.

I, have missed you. So I decided to come back to Cincinnati, so you could watch me pitch!!!! Afterwards I am going to go out with my skanks. Were together again!!!!!!!

This team is hurting for pitchers so bad that Bronson just might maybe slim chance make this team

Yeah Eric I had today circled on my calendar when it flipped to March. I can discern plenty from a box score but your eyes tell you so much more.

Reed's line didn't look great. Had nearly 70 pitches through almost 4. The first inning is where all the trouble came from. He K'd the first 2 then allowed a double. Next batter hit a very well placed low and outside changeup for a HR. That was it for earned runs. The changeup, which was not a big feature last season was very good today. It's a swing and miss pitch but more importantly it is now a called strike pitch. With his fastball and slider those 3 are all he needs. Got rattled by not being able to put batters away at times and upped his pitch count. He needs to be just a little smarter about pitching sometimes to get a ball in play result. He can be frustrating at times but he could turn the corner at any time. Work in progress but a good work.

The 3 guys I said I was worried about-Votto, Hamilton, Schebler all had good days today being on base multiple times all. Votto and Hamilton both had an RBI and stole a base or two. They said in game Hamilton got away from everybody telling him to hit it on the ground and said he was focusing on line drives. Also will still switch hit and had a hit from both sides today. Anyway these guys are getting it going. Offense should be fun this year.

Mesoraco although hitless looked pretty decent at the plate. Had a scorcher that should have been a base hit.

Cozart had a big day and almost added a 2nd HR in the first. Glad we still got him. I think he can work on this roster while robbing nobody of playing time. Herrerra BTW has an injured shoulder that is keeping him from fielding. Everybody loves his plate presence and say he will be a good hitter.

Bullpen sucked. I fast forwarded through Wood and Cingrani and ironically they were good! Storen looks like he is not in shape physically. Not fat but looks like he is laboring to throw out there. Velocity looks slow and 2nd batter in tagged him. That his 3rd HR allowed in 4.2. Lorenzen struggled. With a 3 run bomb doing all the damage but there were 3 seeing eye hits and some questionable fielding behind him. Not a worry.

Now it truly feels like we are rolling into spring on such a nasty winter's day! Wind chills in teens and nights in 20's. Was drinkin a beer with windows open last week in total bliss!

His shoulder is so banged up he can't even field and is limited to DH. His time will come sooner rather than later though. I am not too upset about this one.

As Foul mentioned 16 were reassigned today. Thought Castillo, Mella, and Travieso going to Louisville was a good thing. Full steam ahead.
